1.
The scans are approx 650 pixels each side, which does work out at about 300 ppi.
Anyway, if you think these are bad - you should see the first batch they developed for me!
I suspect I'm the only person using colour medium format in Cambodia right now, so it's probably not economical for them to overhaul the machine. However, I sort of wish they wouldn't advertise medium format capability if they can't do a good job.

For anyone out there considering medium format photography in Cambodia, please note:

SPK Fuji on Monivong advertises medium format processing on its website, but it doesn't actually do it.
Kodak Photolab on Kampuchea Krom also advertises it, and the above results give you an indication of their service.
Thanks to everyone for their comments and advice.
Until I get back to the UK in 6 months, I think I'll put the Hassie on ice.

 2.
Thanks! Yes, the film is Kodak Portra, from a reputable source, and refrigerated after purchase. I think the machine is old and hardly used - it took them more than a week to dig it out of a storeroom. I thought, however, that they might have cleaned it up, especially for my second batch of negs...

 3.
Thanks. But actually I don't think it is a scanner issue, at least not mainly. Looking at my negs with a flashlight I can see some of the marks in the images on the negs. I don't know much about colour processing, but they look like roller marks to me. As far as I can tell the rollers in my film backs are clean, which suggests it's a processing problem, right?

 4.
Hi,

I live in Cambodia and recently acquired a 1971 500c. We only have one shop here that still processes medium format, and I don't think they've done it for a while. My first batch of negatives were a complete mess, covered in residue. My second batch look clean, but when scanned there are still what appear to be splodges, scratches, or points of light dotting the image. The problem is roughly the same on rolls shot with two different film backs, lenses, and batches of film, so I'm guessing it's a processing or scanning problem (the shop scanned the neg using a Canon 8800? F, at 300dpi).
Can anyone confirm?
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nunodqgoc32om9d/20150121-Untitled-18%20copy-1.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/zv7uambqul34q6x/20150121-Untitled-23%20copy-4.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/nwn6wnc3rknq8ll/20150121-Untitled-45%20copy-3.jpg?dl=0
https://www.dropbox.com/s/54ouf9gzckoif5m/20150121-Untitled-46%20copy-2.jpg?dl=0

Many thanks

Tim
