1.
Thanks for the responses. The client just informed me that they would like a second option including the buyout all the B-roll as well, since the VP likes having more options. If a buyout of selects is around 10x the initial licensing fee, what would that be with the additional B-roll included?

I never worked with a client interested in buying out so many options, so this advice is much appreciated.

 2.
Hi Photo.net folks, I have a question. I've been approached by a medium-size outdoor brand whose campaign I shot earlier this year. They’ve requested two options to extend the original usage of the 25 original selects.

I initially charged them $4000 including a one day shoot and 25 final selects with exclusive use for lookbook, web, and social media only.

The two options they’ve requested are:

1. Extend the rights from the original shoot to include advertising (print+retail) and global exclusive usage for 2 years
2. Full buyout (where I retain the copyright for portfolio/website use)

I've never worked with a buyout option before, but I have a price in mind but would like to hear what others think is a reasonable price range. Is there a general rule of thumb when it comes to pricing buyouts?

Whatever feedback you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
