1.
So i dont see this question answered in any of the forums but I was curious

If I wanted to use an off camera flash say a quantum or even some of the fd flashes such as a speedlite 300tl or 533G do any modern flash remotes work on these cameras or flashes. Could I use say a quantum flash and remote with a New F1? I know the T90 probably has some compatibility. Any help or suggestions are welcome. The type of remote I was thinking of would be say a pocketwizard or something similar :)

-Tony

 2.
The F1 was sold new through 1994. I would assume that most of the later sales swere a surplus of cameras left over from their production years in 1992 or 93

 3.
Id color correct with lightroom which is what I do if I get a film exposure thats off a bit.

I own the 300mm 2.8 Fluorite S.S.C which is a rare lens. I also have the extender it came with. If I compare it to the FD 300mm 2.8L it gets just as good of results. I used a skylight rear drop in filter and it worked fine.

 4.
As an Avid FD collector ive collected a ton of equipment including quite a few of the camera bodies over the years. The new F1 has the best feel to it in my opinion, I own 3 of these and own all of the finders and quite a few focusing screens so obviously you know how awesome they are.

For the record I actually do almost all of my professional photo work with FD cameras

The T90 is the most technologically advanced. I love these cameras. I own 5 of them. Their biggest issue is the sticky shutter syndrome which usually happens from non use. What happens is there is a little rubber washer that when not in use starts to gum up which leads to sticky shutter screens and a dirty shutter magnet and shutter mechanism. Best way to prevent this? Keep firing the camera. One of my T90s i bought from a friend who used ot on a regular basis for the past 10 years. Never had an issue and he shot easily 2000+ rolls of film through it. Never hjad a CLA during that time and it operates fine.

usually I buy them cheap and then have Steve from Cameraclinic do a CLA on them and then they all work flawlessly. He is the T90 expert and does an amazing job

The AE1 Program is a great camera for everyday shooting. Not super sophisticated as far as features go but easy to use.

The A1 is also highly recommended. I love its features, the way it meters and the way it feels (AE-1 and AE1 Program with a motordrive are both awesome)

The original AE1 is also an amazing camera. if you get one get a winder, power winder a2 is the best as the power winder a1 is garbage in comparison

The AT1 and FTB are also pretty cool amazing bodies that meter well and work flawlessly. The shutter movement on the FTB is also pretty awesome as well.

If you get a T90 get the 300TL flash, its a great unit.

Any questions ill be happy to answer them :)

-Tony

 5.
I can tell you I own 3 F1s,. I bought one of them from KEH which was in LN- condition and it functions perfectly.. The next one I bought off of B&H which actually just had a CLA done on it and my other one was my dad's that he used once and put in a box.

For the latter one I had to have some work done to it. The meter was fried because he left a battery in it and I bought a parts camera and had it transplanted. The other thing was when I would fire it at high speed it would lock up on occasion. Found out that it was a misaligned mirror and had to have some adjustments done to it. I opted for a full CLA. Don't know if any of you know how much of a bitch it is to do a CLA on those cameras but it's actually very difficult. However it was worth the time and money to get it done here.

I always recommend to a new F1 owner to get the motordrive FN. It makes life easier and although it can get heavy with all of the AA batteries in there the camera works best with one of these
In response to Keith. I cleaned a focusing screen with steam. The parts camera I had which I had the meter taken out of the focusing screen had a lot of crap on it so I cleaned it using steam and it loosened everything up then I used a microfiber lens cleaning cloth and BAM, I have an extra focusing screen now.
Believe it or not I am an avid FD collector and hobbyist. I own over 50 lenses and about 15 bodies and I am launching my website and youtube channel where I will be reviewing gear and my site will have all my work on it. Believe it or not, I actually do paid work with this stuff.
