  1. <p>I have to admit that it is really tricky, but these are the result of the last negative, used for testing again the camera. It seems all ok... I really don't know if I'd better to rely on the camera or not.<br> <img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xfa1/v/t34.0-12/10613884_596082247175194_1628821818_n.jpg?oh=f70550fbad86e78d60874557c29b290d&oe=53F939EB&__gda__=1408867592_e1eb14a44ac2f00d8539f223d2f7498c" alt="" width="540" height="960" /><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/10595929_596082257175193_2053951344_n.jpg?oh=0fe3eccf7e0502152ae21549c8cc8546&oe=53F985F0&__gda__=1408852384_72430bd23500e777bc1f4de86c59bb46" alt="" width="960" height="540" /></p>
  2. <p>Yes, my camera is the Minolta 303, known also as Minolta 102 in the USA, and it has a mirror lock up. I checked what you meant by vertical bar on the sleeve, it is in vertical position when the camera is idle (by the way, with normally I meant idle). When I put in action the mirror lock-up sleeve, the bar is horizontal and the mirror come up all the way, hitting the damper. The same occur while shooting in B mode. I did those operations several times. However, I have never found differences in how much the mirror goes up between B mode and idle situation. The different levels John saw in the pictures could be caused by the parallax - I didn't take all pic in the same position and angle. Summarizing, as John and Don highlighted, the problem could be only the movement of the mirror in its way up. Probably, it hasn't enough energy to hit correctly the damper, causing the mirror to obscure part of the frame. Otherwise, the right and left mechanism which permit the mirror movement are not synchronised, thus the mirror doesn't go up in parallel. So, one side of it is slower and doesn't make it. With all those considerations, I'll come back to the technician. Tomorrow, I'm going to get back the negative. By tomorrow, I will let you know what will come out. Thank you so much again. </p> <p>Have a good day, <br> Francesco </p>
  3. <p>I don't know, I will repost there, maybe. Anyway, as Don suggested me, I checked the mirror. I don't understand what he meant with "check that that the 2 bars on it are perfectly vertical". These are all the photos of the camera when shooting in bulb, keeping up the mirror (mirror lock up) and in the normal situation. <br> In order: normally, shooting in B mode, mirror up, mirror up and details of internal chamber<br> <img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/10621074_595310870585665_1986788605_n.jpg?oh=e163787cbd517188957752ae1f3a3192&oe=53F6E9FD&__gda__=1408701869_646784ece28eb4258ee5d6b6cb22bc55" alt="" width="720" height="960" /><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/10622161_595310730585679_2110879298_n.jpg?oh=b52d10f8cd44288dfaf233b588bb81df&oe=53F7011B&__gda__=1408669963_ac25fea568c6a2b9e768d99c2658ec6b" alt="" width="720" height="960" /><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t34.0-12/10637611_595310667252352_756457696_n.jpg?oh=5bcd087e6eefd0cc42ac02917cb1ddee&oe=53F69054&__gda__=1408704587_b0962a3c03566a73263cf2f97a58fe19" alt="" width="720" height="960" /><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t34.0-12/10637820_595310603919025_1168403394_n.jpg?oh=6c3122c6c92faaa4c8fdd8a0d6d3eb71&oe=53F6FCA4&__gda__=1408693380_b0cc9416161214c0dcb0ffff8b9f5594" alt="" width="960" height="540" /><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/10622174_595310633919022_871411882_n.jpg?oh=d5948a6e7f7e61ac788e21819b7ab66b&oe=53F6F0AE&__gda__=1408672755_ee216ac32b67f93f652969b202f6474a" alt="" width="960" height="720" /></p>
  4. <p>These are the negative frames<img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpf1/v/t34.0-12/10617388_595044367278982_1498306307_n.jpg?oh=16366c5e0b1939fbf42f8339ef374c5e&oe=53F5E905&__gda__=1408663573_340e830baec998b5304eb97bee3d15da" alt="" width="960" height="540" /><img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t34.0-12/10578132_595044377278981_1318667966_n.jpg?oh=d514be0388c983f44a0d36cb50603956&oe=53F682BB&__gda__=1408638747_b1f7e8956418891d734eaaadef7f9067" alt="" width="960" height="540" /></p>
  5. Referring to what John said: it could be the mirror. However, I have already got checked the camera by a professional technician, who assured me that all the camera - mechanical parts - works perfectly. He is a really good and renowned technician, but he couldn't tell me what caused the problem. This is the reason why I'm really frustrated! About Henry's request, I will take a picture of the negative as soon as possible. Thank you guys:) It is really tough find out what had gone wrong. Whatever, I really appreciate your efforts! Francesco
  6. I didn't ask the lab which development procedure it used. I bought the rolls online, they are not expired, but, if the film had taken some light, the stripe will be white or very light. It seems to me as the film didn't take light at all or it was something partially covering the film inside the camera - I guess an old piece of negative stuck un there.
  7. <p>It could be, but it sounds very weird. I didn't develop the film, but I took it to a professional photographer :S</p>
  8. <p>Hi everyone,<br> I'm Francesco. I'm new in this forum and I have just started to shoot film! I bought my first film camera - Minolta SRT 303 - few days ago, but as soon as I developed my first film, a problem occurred. In every printed photo there is a horizontal black stripe on the bottom. I know a bit about how an entirely mechanic slr camera works - and I already asked to competent technicians - but no one knows what is wrong! So, I really appreciate if someone could help me out with this problem. Since my camera has a horizontal-sliding shutter, it couldn't be a problem relating it. Neither the flash synchronization because not all the photos have been taken using the flash (rather, very few of them). I also used four different kind of lenses, therefore it's not a lens defect! Thank you very much =)))<br> Francesco<br> Here is a sample:<br> <img src="https://fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-xpa1/v/t34.0-12/10569117_594251007358318_953107553_n.jpg?oh=738c683c199dbbb2d9eff89d1116330a&oe=53F3EAF5&__gda__=1408498858_100012c22552af0a6c3baf0b4d52a155" alt="" width="960" height="540" /></p> <p> </p>
