1. Great, thank you for the confirmation. I thought it was probably ok, but didn’t want to take any chances. We’ll see how she does! Arthur, it’s a Schneider f:2 lens.
 2. Hi folks, I have just unpacked my Kodak Retina IIa after being put away and kind of forgotten about for a number of years. It seems to be working fine. I have a set of colored filters that screw into the end of lens. I know that on these cameras the focus must be at infinity so as to retract the lens to be able to close the clamshell lens cover. Is it considered safe to close the lens cover with a filter on the lens? The cover will close with a filter in place, which I was surprised as the filter adds some length that to lens, but is it okay to store or travel with the camera like this? I want to take the camera on a motorcycle road trip and I don’t want to introduce any extra stress to it by mishandling it. I am so glad to rediscover this neat little camera! Thank you, Cliff
 3.
Hi,
I've found a nice Om-1n, the seller bought the camera new in Japan in 1984. Is there any difference between the Om-1n's, etc., that were sold in Japan and those sold in the U.S.?

 4.
Thank you for your helpful info. Looking forward to getting these cameras in good shape.

 5.
Hello,
I am a new user to this group. I am getting back to doing film photography after being away from it for many years. I just inherited my dad's old Olympus OM-1, and acquired a Kodak Retina IIa off of Ebay because I want to try a range finder. Before I go any further with these cameras I would like to have them completely serviced or overhauled as they have not been used for years. I am concerned with foam deterioration, shutter speed, etc.
I live in southern California, close to L.A. and Orange County. What place is the best to work on these old manual cameras? I know there is a repair man in New Zealand who specializes in the Kodak Retinas, and there is a tech in New York who is an Olympus OM specialist. Is it best to ship these off to these model/brand specific specialists, or is there a local tech or shop who will do just as good a thorough service for them? I figure there's got to be some good techs in L.A.

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Cliff

 6.
Hello,
my name is Cliff. I live in southern California just outside of L.A. I am happy to join this awesome group and will no doubt have a lot to ask and hopefully have valuable things to share. I just inherited my dad's old Olympus OM-1 and I am excited to get back into doing photography. I used to do a lot of black & white film photography, many moons ago, and getting this nice manual film camera has rekindled that interest.
Cheers!
