1.
On the old 90s or so Point and Shoot cameras, you had the digital datestamp, you know, that yellow/orange date stamp usually in the bottom right corner, like in my picture here:

My question is, when was that digital date stamp invented? My parents photos before 1990, the only way of determining the date is if they noted it on the back of the photo, or if the place where they had it printed printed the month and year in ink on the back. Did digital datestamps exist before 1990 and my parents just had poorer cameras before then?

 3.
The scan I attached is 600 DPI, dimensions 2471 x 2396...How big should it be?

 4.
The date this photo was taken is right on the print - on the certificate my childhood friend is holding up. Can anyone make out the date from the certificate?

 5.
Could you guys help me put a date to a photo. It was taken sometime between June and August 1996 at Heckshere Park in East Islip, Long Island, and the event was a massive family reunion. But I'm trying to get a more specific date, like a month. In the first pic, note the flowers and the geese - perhaps they can help narrow down the date?

In the second (same day), note my aunt - far right. She was pregnant here and would deliver in early December 1996.

Was hoping you guys could help me narrow down to the month in 1996.

 6.
I currently use a Nikon Coolpix L22. I am just looking for an entry price (under 400$) camera which could be used to take mainly high quality portrait shots.
I'll post two photos that are mine and try to explain what I mean. The first is a photo taken in 2010 with the aforementioned Nikon:

Now compare the image quality/level of 'detail' with this photo taken by the DMV of my grandfather:

Basically, my aim is to take extremely high quality, professional level portrait shots that, in 50 years, you'll be able to get a very clear idea of exactly what a person looked like - imperfections and all.

 7.
I'm looking for a budget camera (under $400) that could achieve this level of image quality as in the following photos. I will be shooting mainly faces, portrait type of shots:

http://media2.s-nbcnews.com/i/newscms/2014_30/575271/140721-barack-obama-white-house-1044a_767b48082482e96b3dd425ac8b9446ee.jpg

Image removed and link substituted by moderator. 8.
The original photo looks exactly the same as what I showed you. The original photo has the same white wall; it's not torn off. On the original print, you can make out, if you strain your eyes a very faint 95...but the number between the 7. and 95 isn't visible. It might be if I had a magnifying glass. The version here is a 'restored' scan done by a photo restoration guy. At the time, from our photos of roughly the same period, my parents were using a Day-Month-Year format for our photos. So, the missing portion of the date holds the month. I am curious what date it was. I can sometimes faintly make it out...It looks either like a 5, or 6, or an 8. But I can't be sure, and would like to be.

 9.
The "cut off" part you're seeing is simply the wall of my home. The white part of the photo isn't a missing part of the photo. It's part of it; just a wall--it was taken from one room looking in another.

 10.
As you can see, this photo taken in 1995 has a digital date stamp on the lower right corner. However, due to the glare present (even in the original photo), the rest of the date outside of the 7 is incredibly, pretty much impossible, to see. I've tried myself messing with it on Picmonkey to see if I could see it better; can someone help me?

 11.
I have a smart phone but I want a "real" camera.

 12.
I am looking to get a simple point and shoot digital camera, at an entry level price (200 and under). I had a Nikon Coolpix L22 (12.0MP and 3x zoom) that I was happy with, but which I lost in a move back home. Basically, I'm just looking for a simple entry level digital camera, that will take good, crisp, high quality, HD photographs and videos. Could you guys give me some recommendations?

 13.
What will "worse" consist of, though is the question, and how long until "worse" happens?
I am considering having them professionally scanned. It will be a lot of money but I would think a worthy investment.

 19.
Why is RC paper bad in terms of this?
Yes, they are 1990s Era Color Prints.

 20.
It's almost as if the paper they are printed on is now thicker. Like I said, a normal print feels slightly floppy--you can flop it around, you know. These now feel sort of hard. They'll flop slightly if you shake them, but not much. And the top and bottom of the images has a slight, very very slight, curl, like this shape: ( but not as dramatic.

 21.
As I stated in my original thread,
I left all my photo albums in the back of my moms car for three weeks, long storty, where they sat in over 100 degree temperatures at times. There is no fading but a lot of the pictures feel stiff and curve or curl slightly like this ( sort of bent at the tops and bottoms slightly. In light I can see the image through the back of the photo.

How much longer now, then, till they begin to crack and degrade fully? What else can I expect?

 22.
I checked them today. Some are curling bakward like ( slightly, and they feel heavier, I can't explain it. Less bendable, let's say. Like photos tend to be a tad floppy and "bendable", not that you would want to bend them. They feel stiffer and heavier than before. No fading evident or any color change, but those changes.

 23.
I think upon checking some today they are still a little 'floppier' than normal. But I'm not sure. Just a gut feeling.

 24.
Permanence?
How long should I begin to see any ill effects, if there are any?
Is it possible that the thick covers of the photo albums themselves, along with the plastic covering protecting the pictures, absorbed most of the heat? Like I said, the albums themselves were hot, but not burning hot--It didn't hurt my hand to touch them. And the ones in the trunk were totally cool, is it possible that the trunk, lacking windows, was protected from the heat? And the photos weren't hot in either case, only the albums themselves in the case of the albums left in the back seat.

Do I have to worry about mold development on them?

 25.
As of now I have not noticed any change, only a bit of an odd smell.
