<p>Thank you. I was concerned because the 283 only had one contact on the shoe, where the Minolta 1800AF flash (that also came with the camera) has four contacts. Do you think the Vivitar is a better flash? I am very new to this.</p>

<p>I purchased a Minolta Maxxum 5000 and Vivitar 283 auto thyristor flash at a sale and was wondering if someone would be kind enough to tell me if these two are compatible with each other?<br> Thank you for your time.</p>
