1. Scott! the Stabil website: www.stabil.nu

I have the "Speed" version and I like it very much. I think the manufacture (one person, Jan Karlsson) only sells them directely to consumers, but I'm not sure. Jans father started to make them and Jan has continued the work. The tripods have no center columne which make the rigid and easy to operate.

  2. In an interview with a guy from Hasselblad in a local Swedish newspaper one can read that there will be an adaptor that enables the use of V-series lenses on the H1. Thats good news. The article also mention that the cost for the whole development project was 35 million Euro and that American wedding photographers is one of the prime target groups. The auto focus mechanism is supplied from Minolta and the lenses from Fuji, as already mentioned in the thread. Two thirds of the camera is supplied from external suppliers and the manufacturing of the camera house, finder and all assembling is done by Hblad in Gothenburg. The price will be about 55.000 SEK, thats about $5900, but I cant read from the article if the cost is just for the camera house or a package with other stuff.

  3. Some thoughts:

With film there is/was clear boundaries between the different formats, ie small, medium and large. The digital era challenge this dividing, specially the one between small and medium format. Therefore I think we can not just see H1 as a competitor to similar cameras in the old niche, but also as a competitor to the digital cameras moving up from the small format niche (Nikon, Canon, Kodak etc).

I perceive H1 as a multi-functional photographic platform that you dont have to change once the digital chip has become too old. It is not small and flexible enough to challenge DSLRs in every situation, but for quite many.

Fuji has proven to be very competent manufactures of lenses. I dont think Hasselblad by choosing Fuji as the lens supplier jeopardize the technical quality, the risk lays among those who for many reasons (status, pride, stubbornness etc) can and will not accept other solutions than Zeiss lenses. If Hasselblad wont be accepted for their choice the H1 saga can come to a quick end. But I really hope not. Hasselblad users are indeed users and not collectors, and H1 should be judged from a user perspective and as a tool that gives prerequisites for customer value.

Hopefully, and presumably, cheaper digital backs will be developed from other vendors.

But I surely would like to see some sort of adaptor between the V and H system. The image circle from both systems should be equal in size, so why not?

Has anyone seen a market prize yet?

  4. It is a DL 1000 for wall mount with a CLS-450. Check the bottom of this page: http://www.photomall.com/gedurst.htm where you can see accessories for the DL 1000. He is a bit on the expensive side though... Maybe the DL 1000 was not sold with the CLS-450 from the beginning and will only fit the the mentioned adaptor? I must confess I have not use the enlarger, bought it last spring but it will be mounted this fall.

Richard, check the above mentioned link and there are some other dealers att www.photomall.com that has accessories for Durst.

  5. I looked and tried it at the camera store for a while, actually the

same store that Åke is refering to, and found it quite flimsy. To the

camera's apology I'm not very used with field cameras, am used with

Sinar C and the two cameras are offcourse playing in different

    divisions targeted to different needs.

The best with the Toyo 45CF was it's weight, only 1,5 kg. It felt

like I could use it without any tripod with a sport-finder... The

store wanted 15.000 SEK (~$1.400 US) for it and I sad "no thanks". I

save the money for something else, something more rigid and something

more nicer to hold on instead of the plastic feeling of the 45CF.

  6. Hi all,

Recently I bought the X-Rite 810 densitometer from a bankrupts estate. The machine is in good working order but it came without the manual and reflection plaque (PN 302-12) and a transmission film (PN 810-68) that are needed to calibrate it.

I think I need (at least I want to) to calibrate the machine and I dont have the calibration plaque and film. Is there any way to do it without the original plauqeu and film? Or do I have to buy them, which I think would cost me more than I payed for the densitometer?

I will not meassure color, just B/W transmission in order to find my EI according to the Zone-system. There are som buttons and modes and I just cant figure out how to do. Can anyone shed some light?

For instance, the second button on the left dials between Read-Green-Blue, Autocolor and Visual. What should i choose for b/w film?

Next button switshes between density and HD-LD. What is HD-LD and which one should i use?

I havent found a way to reset the readings, is there any?

I got the machine without the manual, is there anyone available that is downloadable?

    Best regards
