I didn't have much luck with the camera, but I managed to get a couple of images of a prothonotary warbler that had some "rusty" looking feathers in the head and throat areas. I wasn't sure what caused this and thought I would run it by you and Deb to get your expert opinions. See attached file.Doug

However, I would not call this leucistic as there are no areas that show a complete lack of pigment. This is clearly what is technically known as a dilution. It is caused by one or a number of genes that deposit melanin in a lower than normal concentration. Peter PostPeter Post
