1.
Hi all,
Been into photography for about 20 years, coming from silver darkroom into the digital age. Very comfortable with both, used to use Lightroom and PS. Last used LR3 and found it suitable, but it never made me excited to edit. It seemed like a slog-fest every time, not to mention I found organizing images painful within the program.

So, I'm looking for my best choice for a current editing program. Price is the same, since I'm weighing Aperture vs LR upgrade/academic pricing. What do people think? I like the layout of Aperture from what I've seen and read, and it gets good reviews for its catalog management and fluidity. But I am nervous about the seeming lack of news about next versions or upgrades. Noise reduction and distortion correction missing.
LR is kinda ugly and clunky, to me?

Any thoughts??? Help, please.
