Julie Your right David is the nicest gentleman you would wish to meet a real pussy cat! Eyes a bit soft well at f1.8 its not to surprising. But sorry to say my experience is that your opinions are in the minority which does not make them wrong or invalid.

David:- Thank you for taking the time to comment your last sentence sums up my intention in setting up this image. The focus is intended to be the face and as it was shot in natural light at f1.8 there is not much hope of bringing out detail in the ax and the hands that would detract from the focus on the face. In fact the lower part of the image has been toned down to move the emphasis to the face. I had one judge who suggested further darkening his right arm but I will pass on that one. The lightness of the ear is natural as that is the direction the main light is coming from the dark area to the left is in fact where a window is poring light in from the rear and I have taken it down to black. Sorry but I keep seeing people do this. Why so many of the same girl in the same clothes? The images detract from one another. One skill of the photographer is to choose what they think is the best from a session and display that. Have courage to choose your best work. Regards Stephen
