They are such clean-lined, beautiful birds. I have some that come to my backyard in Spring and Summer.

I really like the 3D effect of the photo. Nice abstract.

All suggestions are what I would do if this was my photo. I would crop it and, if possible lighten and darken the areas with the warblers so that they stand out more. They tend to fall into the background. But, nice catch.

NIce. Reminds me of Edward Weston's "Tina on the Azotea."

You and I have similar visual tastes. I have a photo much like this from a garden in Madrid. What is it about sunflowers that attracts us? (especially in black and white)

I really love Iceland, I would like to go back again.

I love the overall tone of your B&W images. Can you offer any advice on how to do this?

Thanks you.

I really admire all of your bird photos. Wonderful captures. I have a photo of egrets that, to me, resembles ballet.

Your flamingo pics are wonderful.

Stunning!

Striking and startling image. Excellent.

I can't explain why I like this, but I do. Good, interesting work.

Simple, yet fascinating study of shape.

I am amazed at anyone who can get a dachshund to sit long enough for a portrait. We have 2 (one who looks much like this one. Neither would do this.

The sharpening was intentional. I went back and forth between this and a more softer one. But I liked the effect this has. Anyway, thanks for the critique--I really like your flowers as well.

Thank you for your response. I had Imogen Cunningham in mind when I took this but tried to do it a little differently. Originally I had some of the background barely visible, but opted to darken the background entirely.

I also like taking photos of Anna's. We have several living around our house; one in the back tree and one in the front. They sit and guard the feeders, chasing others away from "theirs." They seem to pose. They still were there during our cold and snowy last week but they have a way of moderating their body temps to survive, but also we live in Western Oregon, so the weather is fairly moderate.

Reminiscent of Tina Modotti's photos from the 1920s.

I know it's soft but it was taken at a long distance as the fox was sprinting across the field behind our house. I thought that the slight blur would hint at the speed it was running. I agree with Jim that sometimes technically imperfect photos can sometimes be quite interesting (not that I was trying to make it imperfect).

This was just an attempt to make something out of an ordinary photograph.
Curious!
