    Reflexion

          3

the good: love the sparkling water and the sultry looking silhouette of the girl

the bad: the composition makes the eye follow the poles of the shade down to the bottom of the picture to find... nothing. it also splits the frame in two with the girl on the left and nothing to the right. If you use the rule of thirds there is nothing of feature in the correct spots.

I have been trying out the RAW setting on my 300D and am really

please with the level of flexibility it offers for post-processing.

This is one of my earliest RAW conversions and I would be very

appreciative of any constructive critique / hints / tips.

    Sunset Trees

When we do get a hot summer in the UK it really makes it all

worthwhile. I took this shot from the roof just after sunset as the

moon was rising (in the opposite direction) and I think it was Venus

visible in the after glow. Would appreciate your valued opinions.

to better my technique and get some tips from the experts out there.

Let me know whatyou think and what could be done better. Cheers

After getting feedback on the original digital photo I have cropped

and edited the image to give it a feel of more space and dreaminess,

I would appreciate you opinions and what I could have done

differently and how to improve, also what you like or dislike about

the photo. Please note that the only camera I had to hand was a

digital camcorder so the resolution is not that great.

  1. I always love the smoke and fire shots. How did you set up the shot initially with the PSP9 editing. What kind of light and from which angle? what was the original background? what speeds and ISO work best and is that with flash or not? e-mail me as I want to try my own and need a start point

Found this wall of beer in a Slovakian Bar. Would like you views on

the colour/tone changes and the overall composition. the original is

    also in my portfolio.

Really nice use of lighting here. the curve of reflected light on the vase carries on the curve of the flower in a natural way (with an almost natural geometric progression). Don't know if that was intentional but it really works.

I really like the splashes of colour from the horns, against the mainly white bodies of the cattle. Can almost hear them lowing and the sounds of the cowbells. lots of energy/life captured here.

Have been experimenting again. This time with Flaming Pears and eye

candy plugins. Would like your opinions and suggestions. If digital

alteration is not your thing, don't let me know here as I am looking

for constructive critism and not purist lecturing. Thank you.

  2. Sunrise can be more spectacular than sunset, just means you have to

be awake for it. Would like to know what you think of this sunrise.

Tips and hints for changes would be much appreciated.

  3. I was trying to get the contrast between the dead tree in the

foreground and the live grasses/brush in the background. What do you

think? I know the scan is a little low in quality but what about the

overall composition and framing? Any tips, or changes you would make?
