OP: check out the Hasselblad X1D II. It’s ergonomically superior, not much heavier than the M10 and the lenses are excellent. I can use some of my favorite M lenses using an adapter (no autofocus, but the X1D II’s focus peaking is outstanding (in the EVF, or on the touchscreen.

I get consistently better results. Pretty sure I’m going to sell my M10 body.

You can try to be nice, as the lawyer suggested, or go public on FB, which has worked.

The photographer is a con artist. “I’m sick, here’s your money back” is one thing. “I’m sick and I’m making it your problem” is something else.

The law won’t help you. Public accountability will.

 

I think you’re describing the real potential scam. Happens with antique cars often. The “seller” grabs pictures from a real ad and is only selling the dream of buying something below market. I doubt a camera like this can be counterfeited profitability.

I have a Carry Speed as well, it has several mounting holes on the bottom of the plate - I screw in a small d-ring and attach a loop wrist

strap to the swivel attachment of the sling as a safety. That said, the plate has never worked loose from the body. It is comfortable with a

d4 and 70-200 vrii.

Look at Shun's photos. He knows what he's talking about. You'll love taking nice photos of your son and think of the fun you'll have when

he goes to the prom and you pull up all the old photos - with the right perspectives because you used a proper portrait length lens on a fx

camera. Go for it and have fun! He'll be walking before you know it.

<p>Go for the D600. FX will allow you to use longer lenses - and your 85mm lens will take a far more flattering picture than any 35mm lens, doesn't matter how much you spend. There's a website that shows how facial features are distorted with wider angle lenses - can't seem to find it, though.<br>

You'll better enjoy pictures taken with a proper portrait lens - and your child will only grow up once. </p>

Do you need a zoom? The 15mm 3.8 AI-s is relatively small and light - and if you don't like it, you can resell it for more money in a year

(prices on MF lenses are creeping up). You'll have money left over even if you buy a minty one.

Depends on what/how you like to shoot. I like MF lenses and have purchased great used Nikkor lenses from adorama

and keh. But once I tried the zeiss 100mm f2 macro planar, I had a hard time going back.

If you want/need autofocus, you're much better off buying new and only new lenses. I've found the price differntial

between new and used to be so small, it's not worth the risk. My six month old 70-200 vr2 is being repaired under

warranty right now.
