I arrived at the summit in the heart of the Colorado Rockies and
found this sign laying on the ground, I knew what I wanted to do with
it and I did it. I love my home mountains

Just a note - This is a HDR and I used my cameras exposure bracketing setting along with the rapid continuous shooting setting to get the image. Thanks again!

Thank you all for your very detailed critiques. I just want you all to know I did not have a tripod and it was very cold so I was shaking pretty good. This was kind of a on the fly kind of photo between my home and my work. I really do appreciate all the advise and I would love to see more.

Thanks Gregory! I really appreciate it.

I live in Nebraska and I am very limited to public land and stunning
vistas so I have to look a bit harder for interesting subject matter. I
lived in the mountains for 30 years but now I have to look really hard
for my mountains. All feedback would be great, just curious what
everyone thinks. Thank you.

Thank you. It is a photo of my daughter who was out shooting with me when we found this old International truck.

This is a photo of a wild mustang in the Stewart Creek region north of Rawlins, Wyoming.

Fantastic!

You are obviously one of the best landscape photographers on this site and almost everytime I see one of your pictures about all I can say is wow and how in the heck do you find these amazing places.

I really like this photo. I looked at the details for the overall rating and I do not get it. I guess my taste is different from others. I think your photo is interesting, creative, and I love the tones.

I believe you are correct. My monitor is calibrated so you are seeing close to what I see and this photo does look much better large and on paper. I almost got halo type effects when I sized this down for the web. I really appreciate your time and well thought critique. Thanks Stephan.

I love it! Very interesting formation in the water, very beautiful colors, very good photograph. Good work.

I love to see powerful pictures and photographers that capture the decisive moment in life. A picture that is so powerful that it needs no subtitles or text because just looking at the picture tells you an entire story. Good job Ron!

Another outstanding photo! I love Yosemite and you captured a great sense of feel in your photograph
-
I love this photo very much.

I have been in the high alpine very much in my life. I know what it takes to get to places like this and I think your photo is outstanding!

Every time I come across this photo on this site I click on it so I can see it as large as I can. Outstanding photo that has a feel and uniqueness that makes this a real champ to me.

Outstanding! The light on the tips of the wheat is beautiful.

My Birthday is also may 11th and it has nothing to do with my critique. I think this photo is sensational! Outstanding capture and the expression on the girls face is perfect.

I agree with you David and I actually tried that and have a few pics horizontal. I only had a 28mm lens and in the horizontal photo I lost the feathery clouds at the top and I did not like it as much, if I only had a 18mm that day it would have worked out better.

Does anyone think this is good?

I just took my first pictures at a horse race and it is difficult. I love this picture. It is brutal and real.

I am very excited that the editors of National Geographic selected this photo as one of the 7 chosen for the week 2 selections in the 2012 photo contest. Sometimes I doubt myself and this was a very welcomed boost to my confidence.

Composition good or bad? I love the shot but I am not sure about the
composition.
