1. Hi Experts, I have this old manual lens RMC Tokina 28mm 2.8. It's aperture blades seem to be stuck. Does anyone have info on how to fix that. Thanks and appreciate!

 11.
from construction of the lens it does not seem at all to be any sort of fake. this tiny lens has real weight of 350 gms to 450 gms at least. Optics seen from naked eye are having a blue tint reflection that of a pretty decent quality luxury lens - but who knows.
From the first tests taken with the pictures, it has decent performance for a slow lens ( at f3.5) & tack sharp at f8.0 - f11.0
There does not seem to be any conspicuous optical aberrations. Flare still needs to be tested, how well it performs on that.

 12.
here is one test capture taken with this lens

 14.
Hi Experts

Does anyone has info on this lens? - Carl Zeiss Jena DDR SONNAR 5cm f 3.5. Picture is attached below after the question. I know this is apparently a RUSSIAN copy of SONNAR lens made of all brass but that's all I know.
I would like to know if this is a good lens, year, or anything you guys might know - info will be appreciated.
Thank you.

 15.
thank you all for the responses.

Ray - from your recommendation of Mamiya rangefinder , i see so many variation - models as well as price. which one are you referring to?
below eBay links for few
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mamiya-6-Six-rangefinder-folding-camera-Olympus-lens-D-Zuiko-F-C-75-F3-5-/171912180891?hash=item2806c3b49b

http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2050601.m570.l1313.TR2.TRC1.A0.H1.XMamiya+6+rangefinder+.TRS0&_nkw=Mamiya+6+rangefinder+&_sacat=0

 16.
Hi Experts!!

Been photographing for few years now, with mid-range SLR. So I have come to point where I see what I like in prints & what I want prints to look like.
Recently I have realized my taste in square aspect ratio. I understand medium format cameras are 6x6 & on reading a bit on internet its little overwhelming what camera & lens to pick. SO here are couple of questions, answers are much appreciated.

Q1: What are the options in medium format cameras which I can use for 1:1 aspect ratio? Pros & Cons of these cameras?
Q2: What focal length is good for "standard" in medium format, is it 80mm? & which lens to go with the medium format?

Thanks, appreciate it.

 17.
Thank You all for the replies.

Tony - I see there are lot of versions of Voigtlander 25mm Color-Skopar. Is any one better than other?

Thanks.

 18.
Thank you to all you for quick responses. There was another version from this seller with no OIL leak or such issues specified I went for that one - little pricier than the other one. With other choice I figured if I had to get serviced might end up paying even , hassle + driving to camera guy etc etc.

Quick question: I see there were two types of Pentacon 135 2.8 lenses , one ZEBRA with 15 blade & other non-Zebra but still a 15 blade & on the internet I could not find any difference between them mechanically & optically given reviews except one is ZEBRA facade other is not. Any clues about that if there is a difference between these two.
Appreciate all, I will be sharing pictures soon.

 19.
This is new info, pardon me I am amateur on this.
Lens is Meyer Optik Görlitz Orestor 135mm F2.8 EXA Exakta mount - is that barrel or shutter, i no clue.

 20.
Hi Experts

Quick question: I am looking at a lens purchase - from Meyer-Optik Gorlitz, its an old lens but in good - excellent condition except the seller says there is little oil & which is not to worry about.

Is it worth 70 bucks, what issue arises if there is OIL in the lens ?Does the oil keep on increasing & it affects pictures or mechanically lens becomes useless eventually?

Please advise, Thanks..

 21.
there seems to be some difference in actual distance of the subject & markings on the lens.
Is there a way to fix this?

Thx..

 22.
Stephen,

Whether it focuses to infinity on native M42 camera body - I still need to check that, then I can answer.
I am not an engineer on lenses & I purchased this lens online eBay, so maybe what you are saying that re-assembly put the registration incorrectly is true.
Is that something that I can fix easily with some effort from my side ? - any guidance will be a help here. I like the picture / color/ handling of this lens so I would rather keep it if I can fix it & not return it. The only issue is it won't focus to infinity.

Thanks for the quick response.

 23.
Hi Experts!!

Perspective: I use quite a few old vintage manual lenses with my Sony NEX camera. This issue is in context to one specific lens ( Hanimex 135mm f2.8 Pre-set lens - Made in Japan version ) Pictures are attached here.
Setup: Sony NEX 5, Hanimex 135mm 2.8 M42 mount with m42 adapter to NEX. FYI - There is no issue with adapter or camera as my other m42 manual lens focus fine to infinity.

Issue: This lens Hanimex 135mm f2.8 Pre-Set lens focuses fine up to approximately 50 meters. But after 50 frame is out of focus & even moving the focusing ring to infinity won't help. However, as I mentoned earlier this is pre-set lens, infinity focus works when I stop down the aperture all the way to f16. This is fine, but does that mean I cannot take infinity set pictures at aperture bigger that f16 ?!?

Picture is attached here in this question in the link below.
Thank you all for your advice on this.
