I think that's the most endearing shot of a snail I've ever seen.
-
A few things I'm hoping to get feedback on:
1) Composition -- does this have feeling?
2) Contrast -- Is this shot to severe?
3) Should I crop out the bases of the headstones in the upper left,
or do they provide context?
4) And of course, anything you'ld like to add, all comments are much
more than welcomed.
Thanks all!

As these negs. are owned by the paper, I don't have any prints, and was working on time (and a negative scanner) borrowed from my photo editor -- in my haste the images I took were too small.

Recently started working for my school paper. Shot this several
weeks ago at an anti-war protest in NYC. Does this both tell the
news and capture a feeling? I hoped to send something of a message
by juxtaposing the location (NYC) with the protesters and the
American flag -- saying something to the affect of "whether or not
you agree with 'em, it's that flag that represents their right to
protest."
How is this as a reporting photo?
Thanks

I like the color, and more strikingly -- at least for me -- the contrast between the black of the tree and the background. However, with a tripod especially, you should have used a slower film to get a crisper, richer photo with less evident grain to help the color really stand out.

I'm a bit worried about how this is centered, so I'm planning on re-
cropping it. Other than that, what do you think?
Thanks again!

I've always considered my portrait shots to be pretty weak,
honestly. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This shot was taken late afternoon in Boston during a Mumia March
attached to a Green Party protest prior to the elections. I think
the strength here is the contrast between the child in the foreground
and the police, ambulance and barracade in the back.

This set of weights has been rusting on the floor of my basement for
years...a little arrangement, a flash, and voila!
I'm not crazy about the bright whites in the middle -- I developed
this with a contrast filter (4), so I think I can fix that by
ditching the filter.

I found these wings right off a well traveled path -- it looks like a
cat was successful. This was just as they were positioned, no
changes on my part.

I grabbed this shot at an old cemetary in the midst of downtown New
Brunswick...I shot through the fence, and I'd really like opinions on
how that in particular works.
Thanks!
Contemplative...
