  1. Turns out Lynn did not get charged. Auto renewal is only set up for v2 and within 30 days of your anniversary date, you will be notified via email of a recurring charge that is coming...and if you wish to opt out - there will be a link allowing you to opt out. No one has experienced v2 anniversary date yet so none of you would have experienced this yet. We will have dev add in this feature so it can be done sooner if you so wish to opt out sooner than 30 days prior to your subscription expiration.

Thank you for the clarification - a lot of people are no longer confused or annoyed. And I shall remain on PN.

  2. I did get an email from Glenn and it seems it is a 1 time payment...this is what he said...

I don't know how we could have auto-renewed your account given we don't have CC information on file. Our previous payment platform was PayPal and that did not have auto-renew set up and we have not have anniversary dates yet of those that input their CC information on Stripe (our new payment platform). But I am investigating now.

  3. Lynne,

Did you get any kind of confirmation e-mail from p.net to the effect that your subscription had been renewed automatically? Seems like you should have received one. I looked into the renew section in my account. There is no CC info in the fields. It says to fill out the info and then renew, with a new auto renewal date one year from the date. The whole thing looks a bit deceptive, and we should have the choice to opt in for auto renewal, or keep in manual like it always has been. Opting in for auto renewal is a fact of life, I've never seen auto renewal being automatic with no other choice. I don't want p.net to store my CC info.

What I find interesting is that there is the subscription renewal page, but I cant find my original sign up date anywhere. Number of years, yes, but not the date, so it's difficult to know when they expect a renewal to happen. I'm joining others who will not renew.

I do hope that admin responds to your message. I also hope they chime in here and explain the situation. There is legitimate concern here.

No, I did not get and have never gotten any confirmation of renewal. And yes, there certainly IS legitimate concern!!!!!

  4. In the past (as many know) - before 2.version - paid membership was manually - the way it should be, imo. If Pnet wants the auto-renew then it should be an OPTION! (Why should one have to mess with their credit card company over this).

I sent PN a message on both the facebook site and this site (CONTACT) that says:

Please cancel my auto renew and send me an email that this has been done. If I do not hear from you, I will contact my credit card company and cancel this year's renewal that began yesterday when I was unable to cancel the autorenew on my ACCOUNT section of the PN website.

  5. Friends, a site is as good as its components, and we are a part of them .. I have no intention of leaving PN, but I would like to renew my subscription WITHOUT an obliged automatic renewal year after year. Administration, please look at this.

DITTO Administration please advise how to do this...there is no option on ACCOUNT.

  6. I think Fred has the answer. You are sort of archived now like on the map forever. Hey, I can see a lady named Cambridge, but Bridgewater MAAS or Fall River MASS goes kind of thunk to the ear. Just kidding. Lawrence MASS fits... I love it Lynne. PN was a gangbuster place at one time. And I go way back..not quite the corporate memory and all that, but I got my service stripes by now. Some good folk. Now the gears have sand in them so things are clunky. Like the river boat The African Queen in the movie. Needed to kick it every so often or the boiler would just blow up..sort of.

Yup, Lawrence is 1...got a map of him. And yes, PN was great...and then the redo became a mess.

  7. Lynne,

Sorry to see you go, though I completely understand. Wish I could encourage you to stay because I've liked your work and your comments. What exactly are you looking for in terms of UNSUBSCRIBING? Can't you just leave and not come back? Not that I want you to do that, but that seems like what you want. If you want to delete all your photos, you'd have to do that manually and, last I heard, we don't have the capability to remove our photos yet. You can't delete posts in forums and never were able to. So, again, I wish you would stay and am curious to know what it is you want in terms of an UNSUBSCRIBE. Thanks and good luck.

    Fred

I would like to stop the auto-annual payment that my account says will be due 1 year form today.

  8. Gerry, you assumed wrong about the Lynn, MA part. That is actually MY NAME...Lynne Mass. Yes, my name is a place and I have a map of it on the wall. I even named my kids after towns in MA so they would have maps too. I actually have another hosting site (lynnemassphotography.smugmug.com) and really used to like photo.net for the good suggestions I got. But it is so difficult to navigate the site now, and has so many error messages, that not as many peeps are sending suggestions and I WANT OUT, but can't figure out how to do that on the ACCOUNT page. HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLLPPPPP I am trapped in photo.net!!!!!!
  9. Yes, I tried from the upload page and went to ACCOUNT (several times) but see no place to unsubscribe. I have enjoyed this site until the redesign - it has too many glitches to be worthwhile at this point. Not being able to reorder my images so they make sense (I get the error message described by others) and not being able to DELETE (also, an error messsage) is too unprofessional for me. So please inform me how I can unrenew.

  10. Here is another bug that has been complained extensively about--and I myself have noted in a couple posts, maybe even this one!

I am having the same error message. Also, every time I try to reorder the photos and click DONE, they go right back to where they were before. This site is a MESS. And I am going to opt out of paying for it if the problems are not fixed in the next few weeks.

This is what happens when trying to delete a photo from a gallery. Not being able to curate a gallery is pretty disappointing--as the idea here is how an artist or photographer wishes to display their work.

Glenn, is there any hope that this is on whomever's list? Can we expect that this might be addressed before some of us get too old to remember that it's a problem? (meant to be funny--not insulting...) :)
