Thank you all for your comments.
Yes, the scan sucks and the super wide angle lens has caused the monuments in the backgroud to tilt.
I took the photograph right before sunset and, at the time, I was losing sunlight by the second so whatever time I thought I had I decided to use it to find a good spot from where I can at least compose it well.

Thanks for your comment. I concur. It is a bit distracting and it doesn't add to the picture. And I did consider cropping it out but I decided not to just to give viewers a sense of place. It obviously isn't working :)

Biliana, Aaron, and Mike - I appreciate your comments and suggestions.
Mike - Correct me if I am wrong but what you are suggesting is along the same lines as Aaron. In other words, if I'd lowered the camera angle I could have given more space to the flower in focus. And the lower angle would also have lessened the 'empty' space between the two while exposing less stalk on the second one.
Well, in my opinion, that would have created just another photograph of a flower. Not that I think this is the best shot of a flower; I just think that the frame and the composition makes it kinda unique. What say you? Thanks in advance.

Is the bottom-left corner too dark and therefore should be cropped
out?
