  1. Very good work, Ford. The spot on clarity, perpendicular lines being intersecting with the angles of the rays makes an interesting composition. If I had to nitpick, I would say the flames themselves look a bit air-brushed, but I'm guessing because the flames are blanketed by more smoke and foliage we see the diffused "glow".
Overall, the photograph is nicely done. My smoke detectors began chirping as soon as i opened the file! Just kidding.

  2. Abstracts have never caught my fancy.  I guess because my definition of art leans towards the less sensationalism.  I'm just getting into a small amount of HDR shots and probably for the same reason.

But this capture plus post-processing was done in a style that I really like.  Its not over-powering.  The vivid colors seem to "flow" in a predictable way.  The choice of colors offer an "easy-on-the-eyes" approach.

I really like this one.  Very good.

    Best regards.

Wonderful sequence.  Very easily captivating to the viewer.  Focus on subject is spot on.  My only tic is that the buttock area is just too yellow.  I would probably tone those yellowish areas to a more natural flesh tone.  Great work.

I believe Jim Adams is spot on with his critique! The soft lighting on this beautiful model creates a "calming effect" to a me. This one is definitely a step-up from last week's POW!! Well done.

First impressions, I've heard, are the ones that matter. When I first looked at this photo, I'm thinking to myself, based on some of last week's POW's critiques, here we go again looking up the nostril(s) of another subject! But this photo takes exception! So much for the humorous side of my critique.
On a more serious approach, I'm not too impressed with the orange to yellow background because it seems to be just too bright. Perhaps toning it down a notch or two would be better for me. I've never heard of this particular breed, but you have captured a very lovely looking animal with a melt-your-heart expression on its face! Really like the heavy eyelashes!
No doubt others will disagree with my opinion(s) but a matte or border would have also added to this capture.
With all that I've said, I still think this is a very good/great capture of man's best friend. Best regards.

I really like this one.  It almost has a mystic about it!  Even the bokeh is mysterious!!  Would love to know how you add the shadowy frame in post-processing!  Warm regards.
