<p><em><br /></em>IMO the courts will never recognise the need for property releases because the damage to business would far outweigh any benefit. Example - the Chicago Pizza Company want to use a photo of a Chicago cityscape in an advert. How much real damage do the building owners suffer as a result - zero. What is the burden placed on the company by the introduction of property releases - excessive. They now have to get permission from the owner of every piece of property in the image. The sheer logistics of that would make it impossible, let alone the cost. Because of course once it is decided that they are needed people will start charging to give their permission.</p>
