Another great capture, Barbara. Very moody.

Such a cool shot, Barbara. So clear and those dead on eyes makes for a great portrait photo. In the face he does looks like a Tom. I find that usually yellow cats are male. I have never seen a yellow female. I have a tom but wanted a yellow cat. Went to the animal shelter to get one, there were probably 20 yellow cats, all Toms. This is why I think there are no female yellow cats and no calico male cats.

When I was a little girl, my mama always grew Zinnias in her little
flower patches scattered here and there. Now every year I grow them.
When I look at them and admire their simple beauty, my mind drifts
back to when I was a little girl, helping mama plant her Zinnias in
her little garden patch. Hope this brings back memories for some of
you. Your thought welcome.

Thanks Mike for your encouraging comments. I am still trying to learn what this site has to offer, and sometimes I error, but I have found that most are helpful, and willing to offer a constructive critique. Josh and the others have done a wonderful job putting this all together.

I never knew that cats would lay on their back so readily.

Hi, and I do appreciate the advice given from all of you. My camera is a Sony A100 and only takes good shots at and ISO of 200. Anything above that will have a lot of noise. I guess I need to upgrade my gear.

Oh by the way---These are squirrels not rats, but believe me, here in Georgia they multiply like rats.

Thanks Pierre for the nice comment. Mike your comment made me take a second look at my lens, and I see f3.5 is my limit, but I will try again using this setting. What you told me make sense, wider aperture, equal faster shutter speed. For me a lot to think about at once when your afraid the spiders gonna split while your fiddling around with your settings. Hopefully I will calm down and get better .

A very interesting shot. Tells a story and evokes many questions.

Oh my goodness. Sooooo depressing. Actually look as if they are smiling about it.

I was wanting to move this old unused grill, opened it to inspect the
inside, and found a mama and her four babies. Zoom, out she went, with
a" see ya later guys," attitude. Did not fight for her babies like
most animals. I was so surprised. Took these photos, closed the lid
and when I went back out there to check on them 1hr later, she had
come back and moved them, which I was sure she would.
Just sharing. Isn't that a cute little guy in the last photo. Makes me
want to kiss him. Isn't nature marvelous.

I really like this, John. These are one on my favorite of roses. I have some that grows wild in the woods behind my house. They are always so fragrant. and soft looking. You captured these really well. Very good comp. and background. The way you presented it is not to my liking, but hey, thats just my taste. To me it seems to makes the setting a bit busy. Maybe if the edges were blurred that would work.

I like the comp, color and background

Hey-- I think you did a great job of capturing the horse, but like a lot of mine, the background is a bit bla. Wouldn't it have been great if there had been trees, mountains, big boulders in the background, but we hafta take what we get sometimes. All and all I still like it , the water splashes are beautiful. Good capture since we don't see horses in the water like this often. When a photograph talks to me I feel it has great merit.

You certainly have expertise in capturing bears.

Superb capture, Barbara. Not as easy as one would think to get a photograph of a winding road in the mountains. But you have done it.

Very beautiful. When viewing gives one a very peaceful, wonderful feeling.

I agree with the other comments, Peggy. He's a great looking rooster tho. Looks to be a Silver Duckwing breed. I raise and sell these little Ole English Game Hybrid Bantams. They are so much fun to watch, especially late in the afternoon when we release them from their runs to free roam in our yard.
