not a bad shot, nice enough looking girl..

What i'm more interested in is the cross processing, that actually looks really nice. which sensia did you use? whatexposure and dev settings? did you hand print then scan the print? or was this scanned straight from neg? I've never seen a fuji film do this so i'm a little intrigued

  1. thanx jim. Aye those deadly words of photographers, i dont utter them anymore as they bring to much suffering....!!!! just like 'one last time' NEVER NEVER say those words.

I wish I had Dig contributions, your confusing me with chris magee i think, i have no idea who he is like. I keep forgetting to send stuff to Will, but Ride are on startin to ask for stuff regular like so i'm pretty happy with that (i have no interest in the polotics between Ride and Dig factions!!!), but maybe sometime i will send some stuff to DIG. Ta again matey and if you find yourself in the liverpool area give us a shout.

  2. sorry Alex but i think you took that a little wrong. What i ment was that sure it's not original but hardly anything else is these days. To me the aesthetics of an image are more important than wether it's original or not. but of course originality would be nice. one thing i think some people need to realise is that originality doesnt always make a great image. the idea behind the current POW (water droplet thingy) is great but i dont think it works to well, i dont like the way it looks,

    But thats just my opinion.

  3. patrick-

getting hit by a bike hurts like hell.Ben just pulls faces, everyone does when they are concentrating so hard. Remember he is traveling backwards down the rail. most people pull a face when concentraing under stress, it's just one of those things nothing you can do about it. I dont find it lowers the picture just something that comes with it. Ditching an image of a kid with his toungue out is like ditching it cause his stance is a bit flamboyant, thats stupid. that toungue out arms high and wide is the kids style. Even Dave Mirra pulls faces under that full face.

Balance wise i think is pretty much spot on, maybe i could of come round little bit to get rid of the darker area on the right but then i'd of been to far round to the side and you wouldnt of seen ben's face or his lean. I gotta say that maybe those skate kids where pulling faces as they didnt know you and were takin the mic a little. true i have the equipment, the luck of working at a camera shop and getting SH stuff super cheap, but thats not got much to do with it.

Gareth - Why do you think the 15mm to extreme?? I think it works well, the swoop of the lines of the stairs. I couldnt get all of ben in and the rail with the 20mm. Theres more than enough of ben in the shot, he's leaning over cause thats his style. He hits the rail with so much force on 180's he has to lean to stop from going over the other side. I got lower to make it look as dramatic as was. As for the bike, you can see 90% of it. i wouldnt of got much more in if i'd of shot from higher. A higher stand point would probably of dragged the dynamics away from the shot anyway.

    Thanxs for the comments guys.

    texture study

Really nice. I've got a soft spot for nice wood textures (must be all the time i spend at the ramps.....!!) it looks a little magenta to me, and the green is a little dark but that might just be differences in my CMS than yours. Keep it up, i havent looked at how old you are but it makes no difference. well done.
  4. Brian do you work for transworld or something....!?!

Yeah i'm gettin a bunch of stuff together to send round the mags try and score a job for when i leave uni. Transworld prefer US stuff but i'll give em a go anyway, i'd like to live in the states.

    Bondage 6

This and NO.4 are the most interesting to me. Just prefer the shapes and composition. Again good first time work i reckon.

Adam: I know what you mean about spam, I get loads as well in my hotmail account. This time it's about the ropes and bondage not the naked girl (well it might be i dunno...) so its kind of different to those spam images. It does need a theme, a story, but again good for a first try.

Oh, i think Wax works well to fuse the ends, get a white candle, melt it and dip the ends in.

    Bondage 1

quite good for a first try. not the best in the series in my opinion though, the others are more interesting. I'd disagree about the rest being to busy. True rope bondage art is about the rope work and the attention to detail. Not bad rope work for a first try, better really than i could ever do (after 2 years of interest in bondage!). Be careful though you can cause SERIOUS harm if you tie a rope to hard in the wrong place. Take a look at some books on Japanesse rope bondage theres some seriously good stuff in them. It's all a bit to much hasstle for me, i'm lazy so..... Latex clad girls are less hasstle to sort out.

I'd agree you maybe need to 'rough' it up a little. give it a good theme. Rope bondage in a (nice posh) car is something which i've seen little of but find quite interesting.
