Hi everyone. One more question. I was looking at 35mm lenses. The 35mm f/1.8G ED FX will not work on the F100 correct b/c the F100 is AF?
So are my choices the 35mm f/1.8G DX or the f/2? any thoughts on these two?

Thank you all so much. I really appreciate the advice. I think I will get the 24-85 f/3.5-4.5 VR. I print a lot of film max size 8x10. Will the quality be good with this lens?
Also will the Nikkor 35mm f/2D give me good prints?
Finally where should I sell my 24-70 any recommendations would be great!

Thank you all very helpful! I should have clarified around the house I really meant outside. my kids are outside 75% of the time and thats where I would be shooting them, not indoors. So great light in CA.
I have a Nikon 24-70 that I physically cannot use anymore because it’s just too heavy. I normally used it on my digital and not on any film camera. And I don’t shoot anymore digital. I think I am going to just sell that one it has barely gotten any use.
I think I want to get a 35mm. The ones mentioned above sound great. But I also would get a zoom as well since I will be selling the 24-70 and I like the versatility of a zoom.
Of the zoom lenses mentioned above or even ones not mentioned above, which one would be light enough to not break my wrist like the 24-70 but still have comparable picture quality? I don’t mind some weight just not as much as the 24-70. I appreciate the help. Thank you.

hello. I have an f100 and currently shoot with a 50 1.4. But it’s not working well with getting quick shots of my kids. I think I need a wider angle lens. Any recommendations of a lens I can keep on the camera to have around the house for quick shooting?

<p>hello everyone!<br>
Since having kids, I've had very little time to organize a bunch of my photos and make albums online to send to print, like I used to before. These are personal photos. I have realized I need to hire someone to do this. But I dont even know where to start looking. Any ideas on who could help me with this? It needs to be someone local to me (Chicago), but I just don't know where to even begin my search. <br>
any advice would be greatly appreciated :)</p>

Sorry I mistyped- I did not mean to say a rebel. I meant to say a canon powershot (or something similar). What's the
difference between that and a mirrorless camera or is a powershot considered mirrorless?
-
<p>I think I am going to sell the 24-70. In the past year I have not even touched it. I am definitely going to get one of the lenses mentioned.<br>
I also want a much smaller camera. I'm not sure what the biggest differences are between something like a Rebel or a mirror less camera? And why choose one over the other.</p>
-
<p>Thank you all very much for these helpful responses. I am definitely going to look at the different lenses mentioned! And I do have a DX Body.<br /> I also never thought about getting another camera, until I saw a couple of people mention that. That's actually a great idea. I like the G-15 idea Craig mentioned. <br>
Is the Canon G-15 considered a digital rangefinder? Or not?</p>

hello. I have a 24-70 2.8 Nikon lens that I use for when we go on trips or out with my kids and I want to take their pictures. But lately it's
just becoming too heavy for me to take and I end up leaving it at home. Any suggestions for an alternative lens that's lighter? I also use a
50 1.4 for portraits. But I need a decent every day lens that's lighter. I shoot both indoor and outdoor. I appreciate your help.

Hello. I have a few questions. I need to get a new Nikon body for video. I shoot interviews. Some are me talking. Some are others. And I
also shoot short videos of kids etc that I make into a longer movie.
1. Any recommendations for a body less than 1k that will work? I would like to be able to use for stills and pictures.
2. I have a 24-70 Nikon lens that is just too heavy for me to carry around. I loved it before having a baby now it's just too much. Any lens
that would be a decent replacement for that is good for both video and pictures?
3. I have a 50 1.4 but not sure if I should use this or get a 85 instead for the interviews?
4. If I can easily sell my Nikon gear should I and switch to canon? I don't want to start a Nikon canon debate here. Only asking because I
hear canon is better for video.
As always thank you for any advice :)

<p>Thanks Everyone for the very helpful comments. <br>
Zach, can I use a lav mic with the Zoom h1? I may try that initially with the D90 see how it goes. </p>
-
<p>The videos are each only 3-5 minutes so its ok that its only a 20 min time limit. <br>
Any thoughts on the D5100 or D5200 instead of the D3200? I have no problem getting a used body if its a better camera. </p>
-
<p>Unfortunately the D90 has no mic input, and after testing it, it's not going to work. I really need a camera with a mic in...</p>
-
<p>Thanks Matt! Yes I will definitely be getting an external mic, most likely a lav mic. I've worked with them before and like them.<br>
I forgot to mention I have an old D90 body that I can use for pictures. I mostly shoot film right now, so I'll definitely be shooting lots of my kids on film. But the D3200 you mention would be a good idea for the videos. The lenses are both AF-S. I'm thinking I may rent one for a weekend and record a few videos to see how it goes.<br>
Any other recommendations besides the D3200 that may be less costly? I want to see how things go and then invest in something better maybe next year. But I also want HD video now. So if there is nothing besides the D3200 I may just get that. </p>

<p>I'm having a hard time deciding whether I should get a new DSLR body or a camcorder, or both. Really its for two different purposes. I used to shoot with a Nikon, and have two lenses I love the 50 1.4, and 24-70 2.8. I will be shooting instructional videos and really want to still be able to take advantage of my lenses. I tend to like the HD videos of DSLR videos I've seen more so than camcorders for this purpose. Second, we are about to have a baby and we want to have something to record video with (besides our iphones and an older camcorder).<br>
I don't know if I should get a DSLR body to satisfy both, or get a cheaper DSLR bod (that has a mic in) for the instructional videos and a good camcorder, or to just get a camcorder for both purposes. My budget for the body would be around $500. I would say the same for the camcorder. <br>
I would appreciate any advice. Thank you.</p>

<p>Patrick I just checked out Blurb. I think this is exactly what I need, thank you!</p>
<p>what about aperture and my publisher? are those better/worse than blurb?</p>

<p>I used to use iphoto and just recently decided I want better quality books. </p>

<p>its for an engagement party.</p>

<p>thank you everyone.</p>

<p>Is it possible to use iPhoto to put a printed album together and then use a different company to print the book? I do not like the options that iPhoto gives you for the actual printed books. I want to use ones by Miller's. Right now I use Lightroom and export to iPhoto to create the albums. If you have to use Apple's albums to print if you use iPhoto, is there another program I can use to create the printed album templates? Lightroom's templates are ok. I hope this makes sense :)</p>

<p>Hello, I am looking for a photographer that shoots film in atlanta for an event. I cannot find anyone! any suggestions? </p>

<p>I finally decided on an F80. I think the F100 may be too heavy from what everyone says. I am really excited!! Thank you all so much for your help and advice. I cannot wait for it to arrive. I'm just wondering if my 24-70 2.8 will be too heavy on it? I think the 50 1.4 will work great though. </p>

<p>ok I understand. thank you!</p>

in Nikon

thanks chulkim. How would I have known about the vignetting, is it because its a DX lens?
the two picture you posted above on your f/2D, what aperture did you shoot those at? they are sharp.
