1.
Mark,
You were absolutely correct !!! Lens is crystal clear after a very carefull cleaning with Naptha, ROR and finish it with Lenspen. NOT even a spot ... and for $21 I think I found a gem. On my way for photos ....
Thanks again Mark. Sometimes simple instructions makes your life easier instead of thinking the worst.

 2.
I recently bought a used 50mm MACRO f/3.5 SSC in pristine condition. However it has some haze in the front and rear elements (not fungus). I have succesfull experience cleaning lenses (Vivitar S1 70-210mm, Canon FDn 50mm f/1.8, FDn 35-70mm). I have never tryied cleaning a Canon Breechlock.
The rear element is a piece of cake ..... the front? How the name ring is removed? can I reach the front element from the front or is it easier to access everything from the rear by removing all the group.
If anyone has experience with that lens and can throw some light on my way, will be much appreciated.
The lens is like "just came out of the box" condition and I am scared to death to touch it. LOL
Thanks in advance for your help.
3.
David,
It's the first curtain syncro.
EF had two weak points: one is the photocell, the other is the shutter syncro. They will not last forever, and eventually every electronic Hybrid EF, ( Oh my... I like calling her that!!!), will have to have it repaired.
When the first cutain syncro is defective you will see a dark stripe on one side of the frame at higher shutter speeds (shorter than 1/60) as it bounces back after having finished its way across the frame. It then covers the area you see as a dark stripe for an extra time, which underexposes it. If the second curtain bounces back, you will see a lighter stripe, or a blurred picture on the right side of the frame. The frame is exposed longer than it should on this side of the frame.
You won't need a new shutter. Every knolegdeable repaiman can do it. But you will have to find one. Mr. Okinawa perhaps??

 4.
Louis - I wanna have a go with my 35mm f/2. You just cover the front and back elements with foil? or you do something like a hood with the foil? Your help would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Theo

 5.
Great photos ......
Here's mine after a three day fight with my VIVITAR SERIES 1 70-210 f/3.5 to clean and adjust I used the same as you Fuji SUPERIA 200 to test the lens in various speeds, appertures and focal lenghts.
My GANG was the only available at the time due to tight schedule.
Keep shooting.
PS. 6.
Finally hours of searching paid of.....
Fleabay provided a HOYAREX mint holder with all adapter rings 52mm, 55mm, 62mm, 67mm and 72mm plus a wide to telephoto expandable hood yeeeeaaaaah ...
I paid a fortune 9.95 GBP with free shipping. Thank you my Creator for giving me patience.
Happy shooting to all of us.
Thank you all for your replies.

 7.
I totally agree with Barry : (The money thats sitting there it can be maximized).
Thank you all for helping me clarify the answers that I needed too, by reading carefully all of your answers to Mark, with whom I was sharing the same dillema. I had to breakdown my FD collection and I had to stragle my feelings for each and every piece that was going away. The following photo is just a reminder for all of us to remember what we were talking about in this post ...........

00YoBm-364005584.jpg.5eb1f3bb9a221064c596fd57de2fee1a.jpg

 8.
Mark,
Thank you for your answer BUT:
Cokin "A" filters measure 67 x 71mm (W x H)
Cokin "P" filters measure 83 x 83mm (W x H)
KENKO Filters (mine) measure 77 x 77mm (W x H) so either A or P Cokin holders will do the job.
My holder is ok, but I am looking for a solution about the adapter rings so I can fit them to all my lenses i.e (52mm - 55mm- 58mm- 67mm -72mm).
I only have 52mm and 62mm adapter rings. So either I go for the step down and step up adapter rings or ........
If anyone can provide some info about the outside measurement of the Cokin A and P series adapter ring it will be much appreciated. It will save me time and money from ordering adapter ring to see if I can fit them to my system.
Thanks
Theo

 9.
Hello,
Recently I was given a complete Kenko 3'' x 3'' (77mm square) filter set (24 pieces) with the appropriate adapter (52mm and 62mm) I want to use them on my old fd ssc lenses (55mm) and I am searching for a solution.
Easy fix would be a step down ring from 62mm to 55mm.
But the holder doesn't look at its best and because the filters are in great shape what holder can I use.
I know Hoyarex fits but anything else ?
All answer will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help.

 10.
Dear Rich,
I have been through your situation, LOL ..... but I managed to pass .... not without a price of course.
Anyway this baby believe it or not cost me 6 months ago around $200.
It came with 2 lenses 50mm f/1.8 & 28mm f/2.8, Speedlight 133D, flash rings A2 & B2, 13 filters and.....the MF Power Winder. Good deal I believe.
I am mostly shooting B&W but is getting harder and harder to develop here in Cyprus.
I also have a digi but I prefer the sound of the F1 shutter when fired at 1/125 ....
LONG LIVE THE BLACK CANON .

 11.
Greetings to everyone. I have to ask from the board to bless me because I have sinned. :)
After many years of search I did it ... I have them all in black.
A-1, AE1-P, AE-1, AV-1 & AL-1 QF. F-1, F-1n & F-1N, EF and last The T-90.
Soon I will share with you some photos. Glad to join the party.
