just bought two new lenses from nikon usa. one AF DC 135 f/2D, with usa warranty. came in box covered with lens photo, and serial number correct to lens.
one AF DC 105 f/2D, with usa warranty. came in gold box with big 105 on it, and serial number correct to lens.
i found this thread when researching why the different boxes from nikon usa, thinking that the lenses photo box is older stock.
in the last 3 years i've bought:
20mm-2.8,ai-s;
24mm-2.8,ai-s;
28mm-2.8,ai-s;
50mm-1.2,ai-s;
24-70,2.8, af-s
70-200,2.8, af-s vr-2
50mm,1.4, af-s
all nikon usa warranties, in gold boxes with lens size in large print on the box. some from b&h, most from nikon usa.
wondering now about why two new lenses from nikon usa come in one gold and one box with photo of lenses on it.
is the box with photo of lenses an older version? is so how old??
thanks in advance if anyone can shed light on this. if not i'll ask nikon usa, but i think they'll not want to admit that they had real old stock on the shelves.
