  1. I bought a 2X converter for my Hasselblad. I tested several units (Komura, Vivitar and Kenko) before I bought. I bought a Vivitar, because the Vivitar was the best. I did not want to pay $1000 for a Hassy brand 2X. I tested them by looking at a resolution chart through the ground glass. I looked at the ground glass with a 8X loup. With this method I was able to see if there was any reduction in quality. This method saved the problem of buying film and having the film developed. It was also fast.

The only problem I have found that there seems to be a loss in contrast when the 2X is installed.

I am sure the above comments for Hassey also would apply to your camera.

    Good Luck, Rick

  2. I have used both of the Kodak films for portraits (PMC-400 speed and PRN-100 speed). I have made beautiful grainless 16 x 20s from PRN but none from PMC yet. I would be interested if anyone has made comparisons between the two films. I took some comparison pictures with PMC vs NPH and they seemed to be the same. Has anyone compared PRN to NPS.

  3. I have an older Hassy 500 CM with split screen focusing.

When I focus using the center split screen device, the ground glass area seems slightly out of focus. When I focus using the ground glass area - about 3/4" away, the split screen seems slightly out of focus.

QUESTION???? What do I focus on and why does each area of the screen seem to have a different focus point?

Thanks for any response you can give me.

  4. I have the same problem occasionally. It is a partial jam.

This may solve the problem, but it may not. Take the back off and look at the body from the rear. There is a small pin on the bottom right that is about 1/8 high and sticks out 1/50 inch or so. Try pressing on that pin with your fingernail gently until you hear a slight click. This will cause the pin to come out slightly. This might solve your problem. This solves my problem when that is the problem. Also try sliding the dark slide in and out. I have sent my 500C in for repairs to fix the problem. If that doesn't fix your problem, then you need to get the camera repaired.

  5. I have an older Mamiya C33 with a 180 mm lens. The last set of pictures I took indicated that the sharpness of the lens was poor.

I have read that there can be a focus misalignment between the top and bottom lens causing the bottom lens to be slightly out of focus. Thus, when the top (viewing lens)appears properly focused, the bottom is actually out of focus. However I do not know if the above problem exists All I know is that pictures taken are not sharp.

Does anyone know how you can test for the above problem without being a camera repair technician?

    Thanks, Rick

  6. I would like to get a brighter screen installed but Hasselblad would not install the newer accumatt-D on this old camera bucause it might not focus properly. Has anyone heard of this problem.

If true, is there any way around the problem?

Can someone else install the screens and guarantee the installation?

Thank you for any help you can give me.

  7. The question of what is the difference between the C3, C33 and C330 was not answered. I have a C33. What is the difference between the three. Also my C33 needs to be repaired. Does anyone know of a reliable repair shop?

    Thanks, Rick

  8. I have a chance to buy this with a 90mm, 180 mm, and 2 backs for $500.

Is this a good camera for the price?

I hava a Hasselblad and for less than half the cost of a 150mm lens

I can get a whole system. Granted this camera seems ancient in design,

but it seems solidly built and has good optics(according to a similar

question asked on the MFD). I have an old Mamiya C33 which does not

seem to be built as well - seems cheaper and flimsy.

It has no manual - does anyone know where I can get one.

Does anyone know where I can get service if I need it.

Does anyone know if the flash will synch at all speeds like a Hasselblad.

    Is the 180 lens sharp.

Can I get any acccesories for it.

    Does Koni still exist.

THANKS FOR ANY ANSWERS TO THE ABOVE THAT ANYONE CAN GIVE

    Rick Strom
