1.
Thanks Tony.

I actually do have a model release specifically for minors that has to be signed by a parent or guardian and I will require a parent or guardian to be at the shoot as well along with my assistant (aka my girlfriend). I have been checking into the possibility of adding a hair and make up person from a local beauty college as well so they can get some experience.

 2.
I have had a number of people asking me about senior portraits and how much I would charge them to do them.

Since I do not have any in my portfolio what I have been considering doing is just simply not charging a sitting fee as long as they are willing to sign a model release so I can use the images in my portfolio and advertising but charging for prints only and a small fee if they want me to shoot the pictures with film to cover my film and processing costs.

I'd like to get your thoughts on this plan.

 3.
Since I first came to the realization I could never draw or paint my way out of a wet paper bag I have always looked at my camera as my paint brush, be it the old Kodak Instamatic I kept in my fishing tackle box as a kid trying to get vast landscapes of the eastern Sierra and having no clue as to who Ansel Adams was at the time or my current cameras both digital and film.

I like to think each and every picture I take is a potential piece of art. Others may not see it but in my mind I do and I think that is what is important.

 4.
My standard answer is "I'm documenting America and capturing the most interesting moments and people I see. The story will be left for you to write when you see the image." Then hand them a business card.

Of coarse my whole idea of good street photography is not being noticed the picture is being taken in the first place.

Case in point...One fine morning in Seattle's Westlake Park...They were clueless until I showed them the pictures.

00aalM-480671584.jpg.2f5aea96dd34840aa382b692acba1581.jpg

 5.
Thought I'd update you all.

I went with the Vivitar mostly out of pure economics but I am quite pleased with it actually. Its very light weight and lends itself well to my style of shooting specifically hand held wildlife that doesn't like to wait around for me to set up my tripod.

I'm still in that learning curve with it but the most important thing for me is I'm having fun.

OK folks tear the picture apart. lol

00aXzk-477295584.jpg.1229fbf31c05ddba931a004fe7e42b50.jpg
