I have been working on my lighting, it is a bit easier with a digital

camera.

I used bounce flash from the ceiling and the fill on the Metz 54MZ-3

Any suggestions?

Some fill flash, or a reflector would have made a perfect image.

Also the focus on the face... shoot for the eyes

I would personally would like to see more guitar.

I have been tryinf to get the same effect using rear curtain sync.

But it is not working as well as this.

The lighting is a tad too flat, but it is not horrible. I have seem much worse.

Try a little more ratio on the lighting..

The highlights in the water are blasted out.

and there isn't much detail in the face.

I used a lindalh lens shade with Cokin "P" yellow filter.

You were able to get close enough with a 300mm?

Did you use a converter?

Get rid of that yellow blob on the left.

Then it would be perfect...

Probably from a cheap polarizer...

the lens was a minolta 20mm/2.8

Both are sold..

I now have a canon 20-35mm with slim polarizer.

My next attempt should be better.

The image is exactly what I have seen on that same bridge.

I wish my shot looked as good on Navy Pier.

I stood under the wheel more with a 20mm lens.

The polarizer cause a darken corners.. ruined a good shot.
