An interesting problem I faced (which I had not anticipated) was that because of the very long days in Norway I couldn't really use the "golden hours" for best light as it was bright almost 20 hours of the day and I most often found myself at scenic locations at very sunny/bright times of the day (also due to travel schedules etc.)</p> <p>I had carried only the 24-120 f4 and the 50 1.4 but never actually used the 50 1.4 on the entire trip. Also had my first experience of dropping the camera (from about a foot above the ground and onto a carpet) which shattered the B&W UV filter i had attached to the 24-120. The lens was thankfully not damaged but this really taught me the value of the filter and have just ordered another one to replace the broken one. Mentioning this as I've read frequently online that UV filters are not worthwhile and only degrade the image quality (but I haven't found any differences in image quality with and without the filter). I did however use a higher quality (assumed to be?) B&W MRC filter which may have made a difference as compared to a lower quality one.</p> <p>Thanks again for your responses and feedback!</p>
