  1. I have a Canon G2 with a 550EX mounted on it. It properly exposes in

P, AV, and TV mode. When i switch to manual, and dial in my desired

aperture (5.6) and shutterspeed (1/125th), It drastically

overexposes my subject. Any reason why this is happening? I figured

that with the E-TTL metering the flash would shut itself off once

enough light has reached the subject. Any help would be great.

  2. I have a few slides i shot with my new 503CW that are pretty

    unbelievable. I don't shoot much transparency so i guess i didn't

know what i was missing as far as color rendition and 3 dimensional

sharpness. Wow! I want to make prints of these slides. Would

anyone be able to tell me what is the best way to make nice archival

prints from 6x6 slides without picking up too much contrast? I want

to know where technology is right now as far as getting big prints

from transparencies. I know this was somewhat difficult in the

past. What's the best way to make prints from slides without losing

any of the image quality? Thanks!

  3. I am new to flash photography. i just bought a 503CW and a Quantum

Qflash with the correct adapter sync cord. Since the Hasselblad

uses leaf shutter lenses i can have flash sync up to 1/500th. My

question is, since i don't know much about TTL, in most

environments (outside bright, outside overcast, inside bright,

inside dim) with say 400 speed film, should i be able to use

whatever shutter speed and whatever aperture i want with this flash

unit WITHOUT even metering the scene? Basically leaving all the

exposure calculations to the TTL Quantum flash? Say, if i'm indoors

with 100 speed film, and i set the shutter speed to 1/250th and the

aperture to f/8, will the Qflash be able to properly expose my

subject? Any info that would help clear me up on this subject would

    be great. Thanks!

  4. I'm wondering if since the Canon G2 is compatible with all of the EX

flashes, would it be compatible with a Quantum Qflash with a Canon

EOS adapter cord that mounts on the hot shoe? The cord that goes

normally from my Qflash to the hot shoe of my Canon EOS 1V is

compatible with all EOS film bodies. Is it compatible with the Canon

G2 which accepts the same flashes as the EOS film bodies?

  5. I am using a polaroid back on my new medium format camera, to check

exposure. I am a bit confused on how to use polaroid to check

exposure when you are planning on using iso 400 film. Polaroid only

makes either 100 or 3000 iso film. Do you proof your exposure at

100 iso and then close down 2 stops when you're ready to shoot

    film? Can anyone help? Thanks!

  6. I have just purchased a new Hasselblad 503CW with the 80mm and the

180mm lenses, much to my pocketbook's dismay. I have read the

manual that comes with the camera, yet i am confused by one

thing. When i have the shutter speed and aperture set for the

proper exposure, i depress the shutter button but it seems as

though the camera is acting like it is in Bulb mode, leaving the

shutter open until i release the button. Is this normal? i know

the 503 takes leaf shutter lenses, which i'm not that familiar with

operation wise except that they allow you to use fast flash sync.

It seems like the auxilary shutter is being left open for as long as

i hold the button down. Am i doing this correctly? Any suggestions

    would help. Thanks

    Jimmy

  7. I am going to purchase either a Leicaflex SL or SL2. I wanted some opinions on lens combinations (wide-angle(28-35mm) and telephoto(75-135mm). I want 2 lenses for this body. I'm not familiar with CAM lenses and don't know which are compatible with each of these bodies. I am interested in the lenses that fit these bodies THAT I DON'T HAVE TO STOP DOWN OR COMPENSATE EXPOSURE FOR LENS INCOMPATIBILITY. Any recommendations?

    thanks!
