Had a similar effect once when my battery was dying. It showed charged, but as soon as any load was thrown at it, it wasn't giving enough output. Replaced with new battery as all was well.

I'm using a couple of sandisk 16gb cards in my mix with no issues. Only thing that worries me a bit is that if I lose a card
due to technical failure, even shooting raw, it's potentially over 1000 pix.

I've also had that lens for a couple of years. Agree that it's very sharp at 2.8. Would only say it's a bit soft *at the
extremes* when wide open, I.e. at 17 or at 50.

As always, some great stuff. This is one of the dragons protecting the City of London, taken on Fleet Street.

Adams exhibit - Toronto
in Casual Photo Conversations
Posted

Hi, all. Been a while since I posted, I've been happily lurking away.

Just wanted to share that I spent several hours yesterday at an Ansel Adams exhibit at the McMichael gallery in Kleinburg, north of Toronto. I've seen lots of Adams work on the internet, but it doesn't do it justice. As powerful as I though his work was before, it doesn't compare to in person. Lit as Adams wanted, framed as Adams wanted, even on walls painted the colour he wanted, I was gobsmacked.

If you live anywhere in the Toronto area, well worth the drive if you need inspiration or need to be awed. I'm only an enthusiastic amateur at best, but I am inspired by his standard.
