I currently have a D7000 with the 18-55, 50 f/1.8, and 55-200 lenses. I am selling my first camera (D3000), and might have to sell the 18-55 to get the price I want for it. My question is: which lens should I get to replace the 18-55, if any? I want to save money, so price is a factor. I know the 35 f/1.8 will be highly recommended, but is that too close to the 50mm? I shoot portraits, landscapes, dogs, etc. Thanks in advance!

I wanted to follow up and show the shots I got. Thanks for everyone's advice. I didnt end up renting extra gear, but used my D3000 and 55-200mm. It was limiting, but the speed wasnt the issue, it was really the quality that held me back (I think). There is major loss of detail in all of the shots and it was hard to get clear pics in the evening match.
http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/media/set/?set=a.893995454013.2363084.23203668&type=1

Knowing the game is not the issue. I've played tennis since i was very young and have some experience shooting my own teammates playing. I'm more concerned about the networking part.

I posted in the sports forum about how I will be shooting a pro tennis event for the first time. I would like some advice on how to meet poeple who are established in the business and how to get into the business myself. Up to this point I have only shot engagement pictures and other shots just as a hobby. Now that I have a chance to meet some pros, I want to make an impression and possibly get some future work.
I shoot with a D3000 which I know is a consumer camera and limits my shooting options. When I start making money I will upgrade.

I just got credentials shooting an ITF women's tennis event. I'll be tagging along with a seasoned pro, but I wanted to see if anyone has any good advice. My gear is pretty limited; I have a Nikon D3000 with 18-55, 50, and 55-200mm lenses. Should I rent a better camera? Is there anything else I should bring? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sean
