1627 hours yesterday afternoon Sunday 06-08-2014 catching the warmth of the sun on the gravel in my parking area<div></div>

Saturday morning I went out to walk over to the vineyard and almost stepped on this dude in my graveled parking area, so I got down on my belly in the sharp stones with it and spent 15 minutes wearing the knees and elbows out of my clothes working for camera angles.<div></div>

Well, interesting note to add for those out there who value the natural environment, When I posted the photo of the lizard I photo'd yesterday I mentioned I'd never seen one before on the island (Vancouver Island BC). I also posted two photos of it to my facebook page after posting it here, and one of my facebook friends identified i. It is a European Wall Lizard, and any sightings of it are to be reported to the Province of BC Ministry of the Environment, It is categorized as an "invasive species" and potentially dangerous to the only existing "native" lizard species on the Island. There was apparently a population of them "set free" a few years ago when a 'store' when out of business. They were thought to have been contained to a small area about 60 miles from where I photo'd this one. Guess they weren't after all.
