1.
Hi. I've had a look through ebay and noticed that apparently there's an original/1st 50mm 1.7 AF and an RS model. How can you identify which one is which? Which one is better all round? Thanks in advance. Peter.

 2.
When re-winding film I made a few turns in the wrong direction to begin with but realised then completely rewound the entire film in the right direction. However the shutter won't cock or fire now - the film advance lever is loose and doesn't engage anything. Is there a remedy? Thanks in advance.

 3.
Well...I unscrewed the mystery part with no detrimental effects I can see. I just wonder what on earth it was for? Could the little hole it screwed in be for dropping oil/lubricant in? Not that I will ever do that - just a thought. There is a small gold sticker beside the red dot used to align the lens properly when attaching it that says 'surveillance only' if that means anything to anyone?

Thanks for the responses guys.

 4.
I recently bought an x-500 off ebay. There seems to be a problem with the shutter release in that it is stuck as if it had been pressed half way down. That means when I turn the camera on the exposure meter is always on. To take a picture I only need to put very slight pressure on the button - it maybe moves half a milimeter. I can even take a picture by pressing the shutter speed selector dial which seems to have a bit of play in it. Anyone come across this before or know how I could go about fixing it??? Many thanks.

 5.
I have a 50mm 1.7 MD Rokkor with fungus on the rear element. I know nothing about repairs but thought I'd have a go at taking it apart to see if I could clean it. I got the part that mounts to the camera body off, then the part after that but when I took that part off a very small ball bearing popped out onto my hand - lucky enough!. When I put it all back together again I found out that the aperture ring no longer clicks, it just freely twists round but always springs slowly back to the widest aperture setting!
I have kept the ball bearing in case someone can tell me where it goes. So...anyone have any suggestions???

 6.
I've recently bought an x-500 off ebay. An initial inspection (I'm no expert - a beginning amateur) revealed that there is a problem with the part that displays the selected aperture value in the viewfinder, it is off kilter and shows the very bottom of the aperture value but not enough to see what it is. Is this a common problem and whether it is or isn't is it easily fixed? How would you fix it? Many thanks.

 7.
I have just bought a Pentax MX and already have a Centon K100 and a Yashica FX-3. All have mechanical shutters. I just noticed that the K100 doesn't have the 'winding down' noise, if you know what I mean, that the other two do when operated on slow shutter speeds that make them sound like a wind up toy. Why would that be? Also, could someone recommend contenders for the most reliable mechanical shutter SLR please?
