Looks like a metal cassette, so its definitely from either the 40's or 50's.

Just tested the old flash (original DSC) with the new dsc silver and it works.

Well I've cut loaded and now developed the shots I took with the bluefire I got. This was the first
Time I have ever developed any kind of film, I was scared witless. Yet somehow they came out hell
It had to have been an accident. Cuz I had screwed up right from the start
I had negligently forgot to put the 36 exp ring in the tank. I had mistakenly thought I had the tank from I think it was the late 60's
Early 70's it cam with only one ring, so I figured it was the smaller Tank with the 15 exp ring.
I was wrong.
So yeah the tape that held it on the take up spool let go and I didn't know it at the time.
So basically the film was all wound around the bottom of the tank when I took it out. When I started to pull the spiral out and didn't
see any film I about shit myself. Then I saw that at least the images came out and quickly dryed them off and thy are hanging as I
type this all out.
My question to you guys is this. How do I upload them here without a film scanner?
Is there a cheap way to get them digitized?

Good luck James and let us know how it comes out

The film should be good depending where and how it was stored. I've had a cassette from the 80's with film in it, had it developed and
the pictures came out great, you can at least make sure the spacing is right. Cuz think if there is an issue with the camera do you
really want to waste a 15$ roll of brand new film? But I am by no means an expert. I'd say use it and cross your fingers
Just my thoughts

Thanks I wasn't sure if dag looked at minoltas, good to know
-
I picked up an old MG. The exposure meter isn't responding. Any idea who can repair it ?
-
So I picked up a trial pack of the bluefire police film from frugal photographer
And I was wondering if anyone out there had used it in a Minox and would be
Willing to share some of his or her shots with it good or bad.
Once I get it cut and loaded you can bet I will post some of my own here.

I might have to try and pick one up, which models should I stay away from?

I have been thinking about picking up a Rollei 35. And after looking at the prices
At eBay I was pretty shocked. A Rollei 35 goes for around 130-180. That isn't
Exact but it raises the question is it truly worth nearly twice as much as a minox
35?
I looked At the submin.com page and there was only side by side pictures no in depth
Comparison. Im interested in seeing what you guys think.
No offense but the is it true that the later versions of both cameras
Were made outside of Germany?
Thanks

Just did a quick search of eBay for a Riga enlarger. The buy it now was
2,500$. Insane what do you think?
-
Received my camera 03/21/2011. In superb condition after service.

I talked to him last week. Don't bother trying to send an email
Just give him a call and he generally will have a file on your camera.
A great guy just be ready for a wait.
Took nearly 9 months for me to get my camera back. But it was
Well worth the wait. I couldn't even close or open the camera when I
Sent it to him. And it looks so clean thru the viewfinder. Couldn't be
Happier.

Has anybody picked one of the new dcc 5.1? Or is there a Review already out there?
-

all really nice shots. I have a minox mb myself. keep up the good work.

I think it would be very interesting to see it reproduced, The only time I ever saw a Riga Enlarger was at the Minox factory in Wetzlar. I would like to pick one up.
I would like to see the enlarger that you built if you could.

I wish you luck in building one.

I know there is a few of the al spoil film splitters out there, I am hoping someone might be able to give me some pointers on using it, ie do you need to keep pressure on the top to cut film?

-

Since i've been going over the links Martin posted, I've seen that the thickness of the film can damage the camera's winding mechanism. How worried should I be? As long as I'm not jamming an outrageous amount of film into the spool should I be safe?

Thanks Martin and everybody for your patience and the great help you've all been.

today i recieved my film slitter, so now what?
I have a roll of 35mm, 24exp, 400 iso, walgreen brand film to practice on.
any ideas like how many frames you can get out of a 24exp 35mm roll?
Also I'm sure I've seen a table with the different lengths of film for 15 exposures and 50,
can someone point me in the right direction please?

I just bought one of the Al Spoil film slitters. I'm going to try it out with minox size film then if I can get the hang of it, I will get the 110 sized slitter.
I'm pretty sure there was a thread on here somewhere about the size thickness and how it effects the length of the film, I will have to try and dig it up....
So wish me luck and pray i don't ruin any of my cameras.
