1. Thanx all for the replies. There has been some constructive feedback.

    Pico,

I noticed you commented both on my photo and on this forum. I am glad my picture was worth for you to add two special comments. I looked at your personal portfolio and it was quite interesting, in fact very good.

Your words came with a different flavor in your comments you left on these forums. Since I am looking for constructive feedback I don't mind it. I highly doubt that others may not appreciate that much.

Well, you did not request any constructive feedback on your words ..so I will shut up.

    Thank you and all.

    Regards

  2. The critique only system makes the image/request available for critique fora short span, especially in the Landscape category where it lasts for not more than few hours.

Many members lose opportunity to critique a photo also requesting members can not have critique from more members as the critique request is displayed for a very short time.

Rather if the image is good enough to land in the Top Photos, it is available for longer time to critique.

Having this on forum that is continuously active at least can avoid the flaw in the system.

  3. If you take morning 5:15 trip to Wonder lake in Denali NP, it can bring a very good chance to see wildlife. You may have to book shuttle in advance by calling NP visitor center. We went in August first week. We saw grizzlies 15 ft from our shuttle bus and 2 more on the hills., caribous, moose. Early morning is the best time to see that wildlife in Denali.

In south, Portege glacier will be worth and easy to shoot. Drive to Seward from Alaska is one of my favorite. Seward's Exit glacier is great to hike to.

  5. Hi,

I have been reading many LCD screen posts and helped me understand

    what I need...basically I need 500$+.

This is what is the checklist I have for the LCD: 16.7 million colors

(24 bit), DVI port, 19 inches (if I can afford)

Can I avoid with any CRT monitor? How do I guage it? What are the

characteristics I should look for for the CRT monitor that is capable

    for photo editing?

I have one old (but not flat screen) 17 inch monitor.

What is the checklist to confirm that I can use a CRT monitor?

    Thanks in advance.

  6. Thank you for all responses.

I take the recommendation to get a card reader, as I transition toward the Digital.

Yes, as someone mentioned in the folder, I could see only JPEG files and no RAW files, but can be viewed on the Camera. When I deleted all the jpeg files on card, I could only see an empty folder.

I have the EOSViewer utility, however somehow when I was using it, I did not se any method to import RAW Files in it and thought it did not support it. and then decided to look into PS elements.
When I clicked on RAW, it kind of brought up a window called "RAW" and showed differrent related screens like Viewfinder etc, but nothing was obvious how to download the RAW file.

If someone experienced this before and knows how to fix it, great, otherwise I will anyway be meddling with it more soon.

    Thank you and regards,

    +Lalit
