Scott, I appreciate your comments. Obviously a photo like this which was processed with a very specific intent won't please everyone. But for me, this is exactly how I wanted it to look. these trees don't catch any light, really. This is not a blend of shots taken at different times. The backlighting is the light reflected from the cloud to water, which I dodged to emphasize. Cheers.
