HI GUnnar
I love the curves, texture and gradation in tonal values in this image, very well composed and presented. Well done.

good shadow play

There is something seriously wrong with the colors here, there is a green tinge in the sky. The water is also very muddy in the mid region of the image. I think with some more work the image could work.

Gunnar, This is a great image, the shadows of the domes create an illusion of transparency, I love it. Very well seen and delivered. I also like the negative space of dark and light above and below the domes, almost symbolic in a way, and the transparency is akin to a veil between the 2.
All the best Richard

Trisha, The shallow depth of field works really well here to create the mood. The image is simple and well composed. the subject is very well isolated but still gives us room to move throughout the image, Well done and nice work.
Cheers Richard

Alf, I really like the way there is movement in the foreground of this image. Is it sand blowing or water moving? whatever it adds to the depth of the image. The tones are very well done. This image also demonstrates that you don't need dramatic skies all the time in landscapes. Nice work.

Wolfgan.
This image is crisp and vivid it has great clarity. The colours are also great, as is the composition. I like how the skelital branches of the tree contrast toe hues of the sky. I would like to see the bottom cropp to remove the grass/branch in the bottom of the picture, doing this brings real focus to the thecentral tree, to me that is the focal point of the image that gives us a starting place to enjoy.
Great work.

And he will spend the rest of his days behind bars. Animals should be seen in the wild. ie Marina Cano's images. Seeing them in the wild and photographed in the wild gives us a better reason to look after these majestic creatures, not photographing them cages , sad and depressed.
Sorry ART but i feel very strongly about animals caged in zoo's and i will do my part to voice my oposition to this.
This is no disrepect to the quality of your work, it is oposition to the subject matter in ther context. to me it is a form of exploitation.

Vladimir, this is an excellent image, the randomeness of the birds, and combination of the thier foot prints and human foot prints is fantastic. The tones are spot on, and the contrast ecellent. Irate this 7 because it is excellent. I am not sure what others are seeing.
Best Regards Richard

Fred, your initial comment, is perfectly in keeping with what is presented, And for me it is the cool tone that would have provided you with the mood you have described. The question is? was that the intent to portray this child in that way, I would love to see the same image presented at the end of this discussion with a warm tone added, just to see how the mood would change.

Gloves? What gloves, i don't see gloves i see finger nails, I may be wrong but i think the sharpening may be giving the allusion of gloves. This goes to what i said before, The photo, pose and capture are lovely, th processing for me kills it a bit. I also don't understand why a "cool" tone would be used for what should be a "warm" scene. Unless of course the intent is to create that cold feel of darkness and mystery. If that is the case some comments are out of context with what is being seen.
Colour creates mood, and the comments are in contradiction to the mood created by the darkness and the toning affect. There is no point in toning an image if you don't ave an intent, Toning for the sake of toning is a mistake, It need to have intent and needs to be done to enhance mood. -
I love the colour in this, very natural skin tones. I love the look on the girls face, the expression to me is one of confusion, what am i doing and why am i dressed like this. The image is almost a contradiction in dress and age and i think that's what makes it work, the expression to me cements that.
Well done.

I agree with Emmanuel. The animals are not residents they are captive against their will, they are imprisoned.
A child should see animals in the wild behaving in a manner that true to their nature. I abhor photographs of caged animals that pretends to make them look majestic and regal. I love photographs of wild animals captured as nature intended them to be captured.Regarding this image i think the girl looks to much like a toy doll, to that end there seems to be a lack of life in her. Perhaps this is in keeping with the lack of life left in the animals caged in zoo's.
Take the story away from image as presented by ART and the photograph alone is not to bad and any parent would be happy with it, however i still think that the processing has it removed from feeling like a true to life photo in the sense that the processing has made her look to much like a doll. All the best and Congrats on POW

Great use of the shape, repetition of the stairs here. The light adds to the image and gives it life, and some drama. Very good work Ed, The whole abstract series is very well done.
