2.
Thank you Stephen. After doing all the checks you suggested without success, and been quite sure that the problem was that the "darkslide on" detection mechanism in the body was blocked, I dismounted the back of the body to see if something could be done to "unlock" the two darkslide knobs:

The two knobs detecting the presence of the darkslide are highlighted in red (horizontal back position) and blue (vertical). Beware with the small piece inside the green circle when taking off the big rings from the squared black cover. I've just taken off all the back, pulled several times the electrical contact inside the darkslide knob's holes, checked that the shutter fired correctly and mounted again all the back.
Hope that could help anybody with the same problem in the future.
Xavi.

 3.
Hi everybody, first time posting in the forum.
I have an issue with my RZ67. When I pull the shutter release button I get the solid red light in the viewfinder and the camera refuses to fire, That happens with the film magazine on and the darkslide off, but also with the film magazine off (!!). The "emergency" mode of 1/400th works as expected. Tested with fresh batteries. I suspect a problem with the body, it's like if the camera thought that the darkslide is on although it is not. I think this is similar to the problem described in http://www.photo.net/medium-format-photography-forum/00YTzm, but I have not been able to solve the problem yet.
Any suggestion?
Thank you very much.
Xavi.

 4.
Hi George, I think I'm getting the same problem you reported (years ago!!). I've tried to follow your instructions but I'm not sure about which part of the body must be removed. You mention you took the "bottom off of the body", I assume it was the cover that hosts the battery. I did that but I didn't see any silver pins protruding. After that I've tried with the back cover, the one facing the film magazine, where there are some silver pins, but after removing some screws I've not able to take off that cover... :-(.
Any hint?
Thank you very much for your help.
