1.
CMC is my favorite forum for several reasons, and over the past year, I've read many informative threads on a number of classic cameras out there. What camera makes you feel the most like a photographer? This is not a question on which is the best, but more the one that is an extension of you. The feel, the ease, the results, etc.

For me, it's the Rolleiflex TLR. I have used most models, and I can't state that I prefer one over the others. It's really about the way it feels in my hand. At present, I own the 3.5e and the 2.8d. Both serve me well, and I've done both commercial and personal work with them.

Since I don't have a portfolio here on photo.net, I will post some samples from my journey. Please feel free to post an image, or just share your feelings about that particular camera.

 2.
"I think we should continue to do just that".

Alan, Alan, Alan. That means that you will continue to do just that. Bill stated the image that came closest to his vision. What works for you doesn't matter. That's not the purpose of this thread. A better photo to you doesn't make it universal. Most contributors stated what tools they used to edit the photo. Should we critique each one?

I'm sorry you weren't around to help Monet become a more famous painter. I think he would have preferred your sight, rather than your insight.

 3.
It's been awhile since I've contributed to these forums, but thought this was a wonderful idea to see the various approachs to post processing. Every photographer (amateur or professional) wants to start off with a good image, and the last thing any of us needs is a self righteous poster telling us that photoshop can't save a bad image. Photoshop is a tool to improve an image, regardless of it's original quality....use it or don't.

I think it was a grave mistake to offer a second image of this scene. If this is was the intent, then you should have given everyone the address to the barn and let them capture their own vision. The second mistake is to turn this into another critique forum. I don't really care whether Fred likes the image or not, or how he thinks it will work for him, and I really don't get why Monet matters when it comes to post processing, or why we need to be taught what makes an image work (which no image work for everyone anyway). I wish I had a dollar for every photographer who didn't pick up camera to become a philosopher. How rich would I be?

I hope this idea (thread) will continue in the spirit it was created......to enjoy photography. Yay!
