1.
Andy. If you want to receive high quality answers you should start with learning to make high quality questions. Do your homework. I also want to sell my photos but did not make much my homework to ask questions like yours.

 2.
I would recommend you to found some friends in this city who can help you with everything you need. I will give you Ukrainian photo site later on today and you can post your questions here. Do not rely on yourself in this region.

 3.
Gene, thank you. I know about weight concern and will do the best to keep it down.

William. Follow your advice I just bought B+W 77mm Kaeseman MRC Brass Polarizing Filter. It is circular and it should fit on my 70-200, 100-400 and 24-70. What about neutral density filters or UV? if I have good couple weeks I might will buy 7D before I go.

Kerry. I am very careful when I am in new environment. I travel a lot for last 10 years to different countries and not all of them were with population living high quality life. So far I was lucky and I am intended to stay this way

 4.
I am very inexperienced amateur learning about the photography as I go. I have decent equipment at least - 5DM2 camera with spare battery, 50L, 14L, 24-70L, 28-200L 2.8 IS, 100-400L 4.5-5.6 lenses and good carbon tripod with ball head. Add to this a net-book with DPP and PS CS4 software installed, so at least I can take a look at my pictures before I return home. It is just a vocation for me my girlfriend and her teenage daughter, but I will always have my camera with me and I will try to do as much as possible shooting. It might be nature, birds and animals or even staged portraits of my loved ones as they are pretty nice looking models and I want to see what my fantasy and limited experience can do in tropical environment. Planning to spend four days at Pacific coast near Jaco and two days in Arenal area. We will rent SUV for freedom of movement.

What else should I get before I go? So far I have never used any filters, maybe it is start to buy and learn to use them? If so, which ones are the must? Anything else I missed? I might will able to afford a backup camera by the time I go. I was thinking about 7D.
