  1. My Sekonic L 408 has a problem with the F/EV MULTI button. Instead of switching the display from EV to shutter priority to aperture priority, it just cancels the last reading to zero. So, that means that the button does something, just not the right thing. Everything else works fine. Any ideas about how to fix this?
  2. When I used the ES-1 for a batch of my Dad's slides recently, I did it just the way you describe Ed. It worked pretty well. I want to digitize my own slides and negs now. I'm betting that I can get a set up with the bellows on a rail that I can fine tune. This will allow me to get a tighter crop on images when that is appropriate. The rack on the bellows is a lot more solid than the sliding tube on the ES-1. Looks like I'll have to make a cardboard holder for the negs. I'm just starting to learn about the issues of reversing color negs. I've read Rodeo Joe's use of the 80A or 80 B filter to get a better starting point. I've got a lot of color negs.
  3. Thanks for the help. I've used the ES-1 with reasonably good results. I'm planning on digitizing all the negs and slides I've made over several decades. I'm thinking of making a rail or bellows setup. I've got both to try out. I do have a Nikon enlarging lens 63/2.8 that I'll try. It has, of course, 39 mm threads on the back, and 40.5 mm threads on the front. Should be a challenge getting the right adapters for that. Using a Nikon camera and the PB-6 bellows. I'm just starting to look though some of the threads here on doing this. They're very helpful. Again, Thanks !
  4. Sorry, newbie here. When copying slides (with rail system or bellows system), using a Nikon 60/2.8 D or a 105 2.8 D, 1) Which lens is a better choice for copying slides and negs, assuming that the hardware can accombodate both 2) Is it better to focus the lens close or at infinity ?
