Hi. I am just starting to get the hang of taking great shots with my point and shoot digital. I have a Kokak EasyShare Z812 IS. I think I pretty well understand the basic concepts of capturing subjects in good light as well as capturing interesting images. Now don't get me wrong, I definitely need training....I'm not a know it all! But some local "artsy" people in my town were interested enough to ask me to showcase my photos at a coffee shop. So I did, and ended up selling a few. What a compliment! Anyway....I'd like to be able to take shots good enough to sell on a site like Shutterstock. I submitted my "first 10" and was rejected. The reasoning was mostly the resolution of the pics I think and then some was because "they didn't need that type of image at the time." What type of camera, accessories, and books should I look into to get started in this business? Price isn't really as much of a factor as long as I get what I need to learn and what I can handle starting out. And also, what type of software is best for editing the photos? I know I should find someone locally that can give me one on one training, but I live in a small town, and there are not many options for help. Even at the local college. Thanks for any help you can give me!
