    The Descent

Your patience paid off.  Really sharp shot, and I know how hard that can be.  What a beautiful bird.  Nothing you can do about it, but it's unfortunate that most of the background is of a similar hue to the raptor.  For me, it causes the bird to blend in a bit.

    Anyway, congrats!

  1. This is great & it looks like you were up on a clear day.  It is possible that I have been living in a cave, but this is the first time I've seen this type of HDR shot.  Too bad the glass railing is in the way, but alas...

You might get some more detail if you dialed down the exposure. Appears that you may have been dealing with some harsh midday sun.  Hope this is useful.

  2. I was in Ranthambore on March 30, but have been slow to put pics on photo.net.  I can't remember which tiger this was, but it was an amazing sighting.  She had JUST killed a deer and was lying, panting, and fortunately for me yawning probably 10-15 meters from the jeep.  If you look closely, you can see a chunk of meat in her whiskers!

The three-dimensionality of this shot is amazing. The flowers REALLY pop.  My only critique is that the reflections at the bottom and top are a little distracting.

  3. I have a tendency to try and make all my shots (especially architecture ones) realistic looking and this is a great reminder that you don't always have to do this and that it's sometimes more interesting.  Very nice colors of the church, too. One thing with the colors, it seems to me that there are a few places in the sky where there are lighter streaks of blue--specifically on the outline of the tree on the right, below the 3 small clouds, and on the left.  Lens? Post? Natural?

  4. Edmond: Have a great time and get to the Taj before they open.

Michael: I will confess that I had to photoshop out 1 person. That was as close as I came to a clear shot.

Rico, Michael, and Edmond: Thanks for the nice comments.

I like this.  If you do any sharpening, I'd just do the "lighthouse." I think the softness of the sky adds to the sense of movement.

Great idea, very original. The highlights in the upper right hand corner are a little distracting. I might try cropping it a little tighter and maybe try to make the foreground pop out just a little more.

Well done, artificial satellite and all. Good light, although there seems to be a halo around the horizon/trees. From post-processing? What's the blue "star" near the celestial pole?
