1.
I may be asking this in the wrong forums, in case moderator please shift it to the apporpriate forum.
Anyway I have used Elements 7 for about 2 years and recently I could not open Raw files, the message box that appears says that it could not open the image from the source and the name.CR2. About 3 months ago I had installed DPP.
I tried to remove both DPP and Elements and reinstall elements but without success. I do manage to open JPEGS but cannot open Raw.
To open files, I use a card reader not directly from the camera and even tried from a file within the PC.
Thanks,

Actually I think there's a misconception here. The OP uses the term "gel" which is altogether different from the rigid resin that all the answers refer to and I suspect is what the OP actually meant.

Sorry my mistake as I am only familliar with B+W glass filters. What I meant was any non glass square filters vs glass filters.
Many thanks for everyones' help

 3.
I am used to B+W glass filters. But recently I became interested in a gradient ND. I have two options, the slide in such as Lee or screw on from B+W. The main disadvantage I see is that I could not align the filter up and down according to the sky. On the other hand I have always used glass filters.
Should I be compromising quality if using gel filters.
Thanks
4.
Hi,
I was trying to shoot at around ISO 1600, without a flash. The skin tones turn out like seasick. I tried to increase temperature but could not resolve the issue. Any help please on how to overcome this. The available light was fluoriscent.
Thanks in advance

 5.
Flash is one of those must have accesories. Although you shoot out doors there are times when you need it, especially if the subject would need some fill in due to shadows. I would not sell it unless a better one comes out, still I might keep it to fill backgrounds.

 6.
I would'nt sacrifice the extra stop to gain lighter lenses. I been through a similar situation when I had the 24-105mm vs the 24-70mm, yes the 24-70 it heavier. But I got used to it and I am happy that I decided for the 24-70mm as I find the extra stop very helpful, especially in low light were subjects move, here IS is not so helpful.
Just my thoughts.

 7.
Thanks very much to all

Yes Tim you're right, in fact I have seen to some as well.
Thanks again,
8.
My focal length starts from 24mm, I resolved the 24mm and below with a 10-22mm which produces great images. Bear in mind that there is a bigger difference from 10-24 than you have from 17mm to 24mm. I found the 10mm very useful.
Also should you ever decide to go full frame 24mm will become a wide angle.
Simon.
