Thank you. The manual is not quite specific. And Phil - another newbie question is the lens on the 9000 F in the lid of the scanner?

-

Sorry, this is probably a very newbie question. I have bought a canon 9000 F mk 2 scanner for my old
35 mm. rolls and the new 120 negatives I want to scan.
It is rather simple: which side of the negative should be upside: the matte side og the shiny side?

Will it be possible to develop Ilford FP4 in a commercial C41 process? I will not do it myself.

I have just started testing video recording with my d300s. The recording in the tripod mode stops every time at exactly 5 minutes. I shoot in high resolution 16:9. My card is SanDisk Ultra 30 MB/s HC1, 32 GB.
Can't find any answers to this specific problem. Please help.

I have just bought a Fuji Xpro1 and will use my Leica lenses (Summaron 35 mm and Elmar 90 mm) using an adapter. It will be one with focusing. Will I be losing any of my Leica lens-quality? I will probably buy the Novoflex adapter.

Can I use my D200 batteries in a D300s...?

Is it possible to fit the Leica EVF1 electronic viewfinder to a D-lux 4? Is there any electronic viewfinders by other makers?

Thank you. It is not quite clear if I can use the rangefinder for focusing with the adpater. Can I use the Nikon-lenses the same way as my Laeica-lenses?

Is it possible to use my Zeiss lens for Nikon on a Leica M8? Is there any adapaters available?

I have a focusing problem with my Sigma 150-500 mm when using it at 500 mm (with Nikon d200). At f:6,3 the sharpness of the photo is simply not good enough. I am now experimenting with single point focusing. Is it the way to go?

I am going to buy one of these soon. Looking at the market there seems to be a little confusion about the details of the name of the lens. The Sigma home page says: 150-500 mm F 5-6.3 APO DG OS HSM. Others name it without the APO. I am going to buy a new lens but which one is the real new: the one with APO or the ones without...? You could probably find a new one that has been in stock for a couple of years. I want a 2011-2012 made lens.

Will the d200 and the d300s use the same batteries?

Just for the record Howard: Denmark is not "Dutch" - it is "Danish" and Denmark is a country as Holland is a quite different country....

I am wondering about the different sizes of JPGs I get from my D200. Shooting JPG "Fine" and in "L" setting, my files varies between 4-7.2 MB (8bit). I get the same result shooting my Leica D-lux. Can I set the camera(s) to produce equal sized files? And maybe bigger files. The resolution is L (3872 x 2592). I use Nikon Transfer and ViewNX. When I shoot RAW the files are naturrally much bigger, but from time to time I find that the JPGs are OK. So it is actually mostly a theoretical question.

Thanks everyone. I will get a new battery from the supplier.

I just got a new original Nikon EN-EL3e battery for my D200. It can be charged and when mounted in the camera there is "life", but after a few seconds the camera goes dead. No problems with my other batteries. Any solutions - or is it just a "bad" battery?

I am considering this Sigma lens. I am not sure if it is an APO lens. Is there eny difference between the non APO and the APO?

Is it possible to change the mount on a Canon-fit lens to Nikon Mount...?

Thanks for your responses. I am now focusing on these three lenses:
Sigma DG 135-400 mm F 4.5-5.6 APO
Sigma 120-400 DG OS HSM
Nikkor VR 80-400 mm F 4.5-5.6 D ED
The first one the cheapest. Is it very old and maybe outdated?
Seems to me that people around are mostly satisfied with the Sigma 120-400. But I like the
Nikkor because it is very compact.
Which one of these would the experts out there go for....?

I am going to buy a telephoto lens up to 500 mm.
I am looking at the following options:
Sigma 150-500mm f/5-6,3 DG OS HSM Nikon
Sigma 150-500mm f5/6.3 APO DG OS
Sigma DG 135-400 mm F 4.5-5.6 APO (are the APO lenses out of date?)
Tokina AT-X 840 AFII 80-400 mm F 4.5-5.6 SD (I have a Tokina PRO 16-50 lens which I am happy with)
Sigma 120-400 DG OS HSM
All on eBay and other outlets. The prices seem reasonable, but reading reviews confuse me a bit. I need a quality lens (have ditched the Tamron 70-300 mm once) as I need good quality. But for now finances don't allow buying topend Nikkor and Sigma lenses. To be used for wildlife photography.

Thanks for your responses. It is clear that I should avoid the TC and go for a longer lens. I will be looking for the Sigma 150-400 m.m. or are there others 3. party lenses to recommend?
Anyone knows about this lens I found on eBay:

I have a nikkor AF-S 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 G ED VR to my D200. I am going to Africa and would like to have a longer telephoto lens. I would like a 400 mm, but it is quite expensive as well as it is more stuff to bring. I am considering a 2X or 1.4X converter for my lens. I know I loose some aperture and the autofocus. But what else are the ups and downs of a converter?

It did solve the problem, thanks. And I did reset the settings as well. Now everything seems to work and I am looking forward to try the new lens. Thanks to all for helping.

Yes I have moved to the M position. Where shall it be: C or S?
