Eldor,
this is by far the better shot for many reasons. i do not know what everyone else is looking at when they say the pose is better on the other shot.
well done.

the 3/3's are insane on pnet. don't let the bastards get you down. you could post Tice, Evans, or Salgado here and they would get some 3/3 ratings.
i am always amazed at how formula landscapes etc. get rave reviews and works of art get punished.
i also believe that black and white shots get unfairly punished.
there are also clicks here that show favoritism to certain individuals.
i look for valid comments that often help me grow as a photographer. they are the jewels that keep me here and coming back.
all that being said. i like it here and hope you will continue to contribute. if you are looking for any validation here, you may quickly get trampled.
at any rate i like your image very much. keep up the good work.

i like the silvery look of this black and white. nice detail where the focus is sharp. i like the shallow depth of field. puts the focus on the subject.

this image is stunning just the way it is. rock on! i like the more abstract nature some of your images are taking lately.
i am working on more abstract images as well. hope you are doing great.

This is incredible. I have been visiting your portfolio often. Your work is a joy to see. This image, like so many others, has so much emotional content. The color is so deep and rich. I could go on and on. I will just say thank you.

this image is incredible. i rarely make suggestions on images this nice, but i hope you will allow me to add my thoughts for what they are worth.
i wonder how the image would come across if you cropped out the water up to the dark black line on the bottom and cropped out the building to the left up to the solid face of the main buildings facing wall. then cloned out the girl on the bike.
when i first saw this image i wished it were mine and these thoughts came to me as if i were treating it as my own.
i hope that is taken as a compliment as it is meant to be.

i really like this image. technically sound. one of the better doll/manikin shots i have seen. there is a symbol on the back of one head that draws my attention (about 10 o'clock from center). i also like how the lighter tones of the most centered face make it stand out from the rest. is this a sculpture or a real pile of parts?
very nice.

very beautiful image. i love how the telephone lines point vertically to the birds in flight. one might imagine they are guns aiming at the birds.
i love the grain in the shadows.

i wanted to tell you that i really like this image. i am always amazed at the 3/3 and 3/4 ratings i see on nice images like this. i get them on some of my images.
i love the form. if i had any suggestions, i would say you could bring the highs up slightly. but, is very nice as is.
if you get the chance stop by my portfolio and look at some of my 3/3's and 3/4's. i really believe there are some people who rate anonymously that just do not like traditional looking black and white.
again, very nice photograph.

one of my first 7/7 ratings. truly awesome. everything seems to point to the horizon. i like how the green of the child's shirt mirrors the green on the boat. this is the kind of photograph i aspire to capture. it gives me hope.

i have enjoyed your portfolio. i like this image. what part of the world are the majority of your images taken?

i love this image. i like the slight toning as well. great job. i plan to spend more time with your portfolio.

Sheila,
one of the best shots i have seen on this website. i am a fan of older photography and i agree with some earlier comments that this harkens back to the classics.
simply stunning.
the image is great like it is and i do not normally comment in any critical way on such wonderful pictures. in this case i agree with the small crop at the bottom. it takes the image from a 5 out of six to a 6 out of 6.
you must be very happy with this shot. i look forward to having a look at the rest of your portfolio.

i love this image. well done. i think it does feel lonely. something about the man passing on the seats that face one another. light is shining more on the empty seats. it's darker in his chair. foggy windows hide the outside and donote coldness. he is sheltered in his "aloneness".i

Clare is correct, the other shot is by far the better shot for many reasons. if this were a better shot without being "to revealing" i would say so. but, it is not.
good work in either case but i have made my opinion clear.
