andretorres 0 Posted April 21, 2009 A good shot. Try it less dark. There's no texture in most of the stones Link to comment

elportebonheur 0 Posted April 22, 2009 Nice to see you back, John! ...And a start with great impact. Compliments, very impressive and elegant composition. Will follow your works from close by. Regards, El Link to comment
aldrich 0 Posted April 22, 2009 So THIS is what you spent a year on! I like the bleak texture of the stone. I can see details, but it maintains a dreary feel...almost as if the water is standing out as life and vibrance. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted April 22, 2009 Good to be back...and nice to hear from all of you! Looking forward to browsing your portfolios to see what you've been up to...best regards, John Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted May 6, 2009 I truly appreciate your suggestion...but trust me, I usually do upwards of 20 or so versions of a photograph that hold significant importance to me...and this is how I saw this one in the end. Quite often I prefer solid form and line over detail...as in this one. I do have a photo of this scene with a ton of details, and your comments remeinded me of this...so I think I'll post it and perhaps you can tell me our thoughts on that version. Thanks Andre! jgalyon 0 Posted May 22, 2009 thank you Patsy. my parents took me to this spot several times as a child, but this visit was my first in over thirty years. nice to go back to a place that changes so little that it's not discernable. Link to comment
graybrick 0 Posted May 29, 2009 I thought I recognized that form... we camp around the corner from here regularly:) but my shots don't turn out this nice...thanks for sharing Link to comment

david_l._forney 0 Posted September 1, 2009 Wonderful image, John. I don't feel capable to critique this image, so I'll just tell you that I like if very much. I hear the water falls when I look at it. David Link to comment
katzpjs 50 Posted December 11, 2009 A real beauty John. I would have rotated the image a bit to the right, only because I feel a bit off balance to the left while I am looking at it. Nice to have you back. Link to comment
jgalyon 0 Posted December 14, 2009 you just might be right Shawn. now when i look at it i feel like i'm leaning to the left...or maybe i am. lol ...thanks, john Link to comment
