Im new to nikon, used to have a canon and sony setup. Im using a d5100 with tamron 60mm f2 macro.
When im in aperture priority mode i try to shoot at f2 but it often im limited to f2.2 f2.8 or worse. Depending on my focusing distance, and i
cant set it to f2. Is this a camera or lens issue, and can i bypass it?

16 of my pieces are on display at the Museum of Visual Materials in Sioux Falls, SD until December 1st.
For more information see

Have you looked at elco color labs? You can also have someone else stretch your canvas for around $20 a piece ifyou don't want to do it yourself. I really can't imagine it being cheapest to go to the UK.
I ordered 16 20x30s from elco color labs and my total shipping was like $40. about $2 per piece, so it was pretty good.

no but i found it interesting non the less. somewhat a surprise. many ppl hated the textured feel.

I bring only big stuff, 20x24, 20x30, 30x30, 30x40. I only print on canvas, then frame. I edition them at less than 20.

it was raw processed, just because he didnt use adobe photoshop doesn't mean it wasn't "photoshoped"
i think they only "true" non photoshop image is to take a jpeg. then its straight from the camera.

when you think it is. thats it.

Yeh idk, i disgree to an extent. sometimes you cant walk closer however you can stitch all you want to get wider.

i didnt see anything in the manual

is manual focus independant of zoom?
eg. i am at 200mm, i manual focus on an object. zoom out to 70mm. will i still be focused on the same object or will it shift back because i zoomed to 70mm?

i actually have a 50mm 1.4. and i recently went on a trip and it just seemed a hair too wide outdoors, plus i couldnt get close enough. (i dont mind stitching). also indoors the 1.4 was a blessing.

i can see a texture added.
some kinda of screen or overlay layer as well.
blue color cast
slight vignetting.
obviously eyes were enhanced isolated.
try this.
add a color balance layer, increase the blue a bit. try different blending if needed
add a levels adjustment, set to soft light, move middle slider towards the left.
vignette the corners
and perhaps add local contrast for final layer. select all, copy merged, paste, apply high pass filter to 250px. set layer to overlay. opacity 50%

its a start

throw out 7, 6 and 8 are really the same thing. consider cs4 if you have a 64bit computer. also i assume when you say save as tiff. you mean a master file with full layers and the ability to make readjustments.

just ask for the final resolution. printer terminology and ours is different. i asked a printer once how high they could print some brochures and the lady said 600 dpi. but when i asked more question what she really meant was 300 dpi horiz by 300 dpi vert. so she added the two. but to "us" we just go by 300 dpi.

cant the RED camera shoot like 24 fps in raw format? so you just batch process a 0,+2, -2 for each frame?

-

oh yeh, forgot to mention that, FF A850

-

what would you recommend for a travel lens, indoor and outdoor as a prime? i am strongly liking the 85mm 1.4.

I have the A850 and I use Kingston 16GB 266X Ultimate series. You don't really need a terribly fast card because the camera only shoots like 3 fps anyway.
I can take 424 raws, which is slightly on the low side. I might upgrade to 32GB.
If you fill your buffer it takes about 10-12 sec before its fully clear.
Hope that helps.

It appears its official, the A560 released original release in Oct is moved to early 2011.

I have no experience with the flash actually. Its just what i gather from other online forums. the rotating head seems to be quite good. and the build quality.
